Saw it last night and totally loved it. Bane was a badass. The Dark Knight was a better stand alone film but the trilogy as a whole had a perfect ending. {Spoiler}I remember reading that Talia Al Ghul was going to be in it but totally forgot about it until she stabbed Bruce. Thought it was well done. {Spoiler}It was a little cheesy but I marked hard for the Robin mention. I kind of hope the next movie follows him. Also, I haven't seen this mentioned yet but who else marked for: {Spoiler}Officer Dangle as Bruce's doctor?

Could we not just have a thread and put spoilers in the title of it, and then just type? Having to click all the little spoiler buttons to see what people have said is really damn annoying. Give it until the first weekend is over.

Personally, partial to the idea that Joker was executed at some point. That or he's in a federal holding cell somewhere far away from Gotham. {Spoiler}Though I would've marked the hell out for a joke of him making a run for the bridges first thing, because Joker would totally do that. Nah, he loves disarray. Just look at "No Man's Land". If Joker had been busted out of Arkham during this movie, he would have stayed in the city and tried to get his own piece of the pie. That's why I need to believe that they left him locked up, because the idea that he just faded away after the last film doesn't sit right with me. That is one real issue I have. I understand that Nolan wanted to leave Heath Ledger's performance alone and not tamper with it in any way, but we're not talking about recasting here. Making mention of a character's whereabouts who was a huge part of the last film isn't disrespectful of Ledger's memory and it doesn't change anything about the last movie. Besides, no actor is bigger than a character like the Joker. He's existed for 72 years, and has been portrayed by countless actors in live-action and animation. The character shouldn't die off just because his last actor did.

I hadn't really thought about it that way before. The last thing you want your audience doing is wondering what's going on with the Joker when you're trying to sell Bane.

Well, if they didn't want to mention it in the movie, why not in those pre-release viral marketing things they put out?

There's only one place I think a mention would've been appropriate. {Spoiler}During the final fight with Bane when Talia is about to detonate the bomb and it doesn't work. Batman says he learned not to leave this up to just a fist fight like what Joker told him at the end of Dark Knight.

True, could maybe see it, though by the same token, Joker wanting to be more or less responsible for millions of people being killed would be pretty in character. Really though, he could probably go either way - what sucks about talking about hypotheticals with Joker, basically any course of action would be in-character.

Going to try and get out everything that stood out to me before I forget, considering that was 3 packed hours full of stuff {Spoiler} -I loved the ending, in so many ways. Epic. The images, everything just worked. I can understand why people don't like the Robin thing, but I personally loved it and the final picture of him on the platform is perfect. Alfred seeing Bruce and Selina is also really well done. - I just couldn't get into Bane unless he was beating the s*** out of Batman in the badass fight scenes. The voice really (really) got to me, there were chuckles from many members of the audience all around with a few of the things he said. Complete opposite during the fight scenes like I said, both fights were awesome awesome sequences. - I loved the casting of the smaller roles with Littlefiner and Joey from Dexter. I tried to see Pope in the riot scenes, I might have better chance if I go for a second viewing which I am considering doing as I didn't feel like i took everything in. - Marion Cotillard, Joeseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Cane all stole the show for me. No one had a bad performance though, I enjoyed the facial expressions of Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway surpassed my expectations as Catwoman. Marion was distractingly stunning/hot in many of the scenes that she was in. I am very happy that she was cast in this. I didn't see the swerve of her's coming and thought it was very well pulled off, considering I forgot about the League of Shadows mark/tattoo that she had (even though the shot did stand out to me). Michael Cane was incredible, when the background music stopped and it was just him talking it was emotional. JGL was awesome and the best possible casting they could have done for that character. The characters convictions come over strong and I was blown away by most of the scenes he was in and the small amounts of action he did. - The fight scenes were great, I loved how the stakes were higher on this one and they obviously put everything into the script that they could. S*** got real, and I was very happy that they managed to up it to higher than ever before. The pacing could have been better (especially when compared to TDK) but overall it didn't run too long or too short to me. - I would be more than happy with a Robin spinoff with JGL starring. - Although excellent I don't think it was as good as The Dark Knight. Ledger's Joker takes the win in the best villains in my honest opinion, even though Tom Hardy's Bane was great despite the voice trouble. - This is a sure DVD buy for me and I am deeply considering going back and seeing it again at the cinema. ...I think that's everything . Though i am not sure Warning my thoughts are a bit on the long side, though it wasn't intended to be that way

{Spoiler}so why did the movie end like it did? is nolan making a new series with JGL?
or is this a precursor to Justice League or something?
oh and batman looked like a f***ing jobber in the first fight w/ Bane. They did a good job at making Tom Hardy look bigger than he actually is.

Of course, he wouldn't be directing it this time, he'd be in the producer role like he'll be for the Superman movie.
And I'm sure Warner Bros. acted on it as well, since you know...the trilogy brought trillions and billions of dollars to the forefront, haha.

Personally, I think Joker just got shanked while in prison. Guy put a tonne of criminals in a position where they'd lose their lives or have to kill dozens of children. I honestly don't think they'd have forgotten that.

Fantastic movie, probably not quite as good as TDK, but still well written and well performed. {Spoiler}Hardy was great as Bane, but it didn't seem as though the voice fit the character at all. Also the sheepskin coat was a bit random, reminded me of the British football commentator John Motson, which I'm not sure a super badass needed.
Hathaway is a great Catwoman. Exactly the right kind of sex appeal without being slutty.
JGL as Blake/Robin was the character who impressed me the most. Great acting, and his character built up well throughout the movie.
Caine killed it as usual.
Heck, of all the cast, it was probably Bale as Wayne/Batman who was the least impressive!
Anyway, not sure how a series with just Robin would go, and if they did it, they would have to bring in another director to do it, but it's a character that just can't end like this. My showing had a load of trailers for Pixar-style films, but we did get Man of Steel as well... {Spoiler}Just a teaser really, with only a little bit of Superman at the end, but it looks pretty promising. Hopefully this'll be a more successful attempt than the last one.

I loved this film. I am not gonna lie guys.....I cried. I cried the hardest I have ever cried during a movie. The acting was top notch, the story was great and the action was even solid. The ending was perfect and this trilogy is going to go down as my favorite trilogy of all time. {Spoiler}I totally marked out for the Robin reference. I would have been fine with Dick or Richard being used instead of Robin, making it a little more subtle. After reading some reviews, the only different opinion I had was based on how long the movie was. I know it was 2 and 45 minutes long.....but I totally didn't feel it drag once. I felt is was perfectly and paced and wasn't left waiting or wanting the film to pick up at all.

I will say, as cold to the movie as I am, that damn 'Rise' chant is stuck in my head, even if I don't know how to say it correctly. I just say it "ALTO! ALTO! HEH! HEH!"

Holy crap, that was Littlefinger, I was wondering where I knew that actor from.
It's the lack of creepy moustache.

Y'know something funny about this movie and Begins? I always used to pronounce Ra's the same way they do, but then after doing a couple of runs through of BtAS and playing Arkham City that just sounds so completely strange and backwards to me.

The beginning was just the calm before the storm.
