For those who follow indy wrestling closely, who do you see as the next few wrestlers who will get signed by WWE?
In the past couple years, they picked up Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black/Seth Rollins, Kings of Wrestling, Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose, Sara Del Rey (if only as a trainer). Pretty much all of those you could've seen coming just due to how good they were in indy wrestling.
Who do you think will logically be next?
My top two guesses are El Generico and re-signing Colt Cabana, as Colt Cabana.
I'd say the Briscoes, just because they are characters that would be great for WWE tv, but knowing how previous injuries and concussions have caused them to pass on signing some guys in the past, the Briscoes may just be too broken down for WWE to consider.
I'd also say a WWE run for Jay Lethal at some point is in the cards.

I could see Jay Lethal popping up in WWE sometime, not sure why the Briscoes never did. Maybe if they could do a promo without cussing, but I suppose that's the gimmick. Davey Richards? Eddie Edwards feels like a sure thing in due time.

Mike Bennett is signed right?
I don't think El Generico ever will, but knowing what WWE looks for, from Ring of Honor its clear that Michael Elgin, Tommaso Ciampa, Rhett Titus, and even Kyle O'Reilly are gonna get a call some day. Maybe even Adam Cole too.
I think Mark Angelosetti has a future up north someday too.
He's too old, and it won't happen, but Ultramantis Black would be great as a commentator.

Cabana and Generico both have no shot. Internet Wrestling fans need to remember that Cabana is only popular because of that podcast and affiliation with CM Punk that's it.
Adam Cole would be a good choice, has that pretty boy look the WWE likes. Also include in the list anyone that is 6'6 and 300+

WWE just signed Davina Rose from SHIMMER. As for men, Adam Cole and Sami Callihan seem no-brainer signings.

Every Cabana fan isn't some band-wagoner who supports him because Punk mentioned his name.

Also, say what you will about the dude's brand of comedy, when he needs to he can get as serious as anyone, and put on one helluva emotional match. See: his recent feud with Pearce.

Adam Cole. I'm actually surprised he hasn't been picked up yet.

Not sure he counts or if he even wants to wrestle in America, but Prince Devitt would be an awesome signing.

Adam Cole. I'm actually surprised he hasn't been picked up yet. It's gonna happen within the next few years. Barring Cole suffering some career-ending injury, there is just no way it can't.

Seriously, I don't see them signing anybody any time soon. Despite, the roles on TV and NXT of people like Punk, Bryan, Cesaro, Shield, Kassius and Pac they still have this mentality of wanting wrestlers with a certain look, size and athletic background. You will only see WWE continue to sign these generic looking types that people make fun of once they see them added to the NXT roster page. They are usually over six feet tall. Also, they are spending more time sending scouts to college wrestling events to talk to wrestlers.
Their mentality is lame. There should be a mixture of ll types, especially given the fact that indy names seem to be the easiet to plug into roles. Instead they prefer these college football player or amateur wreslters who may not have the passion. It's ironic that they want to hold onto to talent forever, yet they only want to sign these types who are most likely to use wrestling as vehicle to make money and then get out after a few years.

I'm thinking Sami gets signed around Mania time.
WWE has no interest in Colt. I could see Generico getting signed but don't know how successful he'd be unless he sells the gimmick to WWE which would be dumb as hell.

I simply choose to ignore the posts of a certain person because it is almost always wrong.

I think quite a few of the more recently successful indie guys may get their shot.
I see Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Johnny Gargano, Sami Calihan, Rich Swann, Ricochet, Brian Cage (was in FCW before), and ACH getting shots. Maybe Amasis too if he's healthy enough to start wrestling on a full time basis again.
Maybe Michael Elgin too if they need a silent assassin type.

So, with the exception of 7 or 8 of their most pushed new additions, they don''t want those type of wrestlers? ;D If it were one exception, fine. But they've essentially proven over the past 3-4 years of new additions that they aren't as closed minded as they had been previously when it comes to look, size, and style.

Adam Cole Mike Bennett Michael Elgin Brian Cage
That's the next 4 I see. Cole is too good at such a young age to not get signed soon. Bennett has WWE written all over him. Elgin because he is still young and a tremendous powerhouse. Cage because he's a f***ing machiiiiiine.

But they've essentially proven over the past 3-4 years of new additions that they aren't as closed minded as they had been previously when it comes to look, size, and style. It's mentioned in the Observer every week. They are not actively in pursuit of wrestling establishing themselves on the indies. They want college athletes instead thinking these are the types with money drawing potential. It's a stupid mindset to have given that more than likely these college athletes are not real fans. WWE is resentful of anyone who leaves them on their own. Well they will get more of this with these college athletes, while indy workers have real passion and are more likely to stick around for awhile. The types that WWE talent relations is currently scouting are likely not fans and they probably see wrestling as con that they can milk money out of and eventually leave behind. See Brock Lesnar. Not to mention this mindset is so flawed given that there haven't been many success stories over the years other than Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. They have Dolph, but he was a fan growing up. It's funny that WWE actually had someone in developmental with this background and he was recently cut. Shouldn't that send a message to WWE. WWE just doesn't understand that fans want entertaining personalities and they could care less about sports backgrounds.
