kotaku.com/5969846/thq-files-for-chapter-11-bankruptcyTHQ has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In a press release, the company said that it would continue to operate as normal. "The sale and filing are necessary next steps to complete THQ's transformation and position the company for the future, as we remain confident in our existing pipeline of games, the strength of our studios and THQ's deep bench of talent," CEO Brian Farrell said in a press release. "We are grateful to our outstanding team of employees, partners and suppliers who have worked with us through this transition. We are pleased to have attracted a strong financial partner for our business, and we hope to complete the sale swiftly to make the process as seamless as possible."

It's only a matter of time now. I wonder if WWE '14 will get canned, or if they'll finish it just in time?

It's only a matter of time now. I wonder if WWE '14 will get canned, or if they'll finish it just in time? No need to worry. Chapter 11 is the unable to solve debts type of bankruptcy. They are still going to work as usual until they get to Chapter 7. Hell, some companies have gone for chapter 11 before and survived, so it's not the end of the world.

Here's hoping Vigil and Volition find good homes.

Isn't this like the second time now for THQ?

Here's hoping Vigil and Volition find good homes. Yes. Otherwise you may see them looking lonley at geek conventions selling their "Game Development Superstars" games at more than what you think they may be worth. But I really wish them both the best. I always liked Red Faction.

I saw WWE 13 for £20 already in Tescos today, which is really strange, WWE 12 diddn't get any cheaper than £30 until the release of WWE 13

Maybe THQ have allowed them to do it in a bid to scrape up as much Christmas sales as possible?

They banned me from WWE 13 for boosting online wins and said I would get my online back after 2 weeks... I got that the second week the game came out and I am yet to get back online... I understand my punishment but damn them for not letting me back on community creator...

They have plenty of chances for a comeback. Company of Heroes 2 looks amazing.

I'm just really worried about Darksiders. I love both of those games and while they're not mega-hits, they've done respectably well. If THQ gets liquidated, I really don't want to see it and Vigil go down with it. Hopefully someone gets the IP and the staff behind it.

Shiiiiiit.
I just realized that THQ are publishing the upcoming South Park RPG, hope this doesn't affect that.
Hopefully Obsidian can just find a new publisher if things go tits up with THQ.

Wow, I thought after that bundle that they just made a killing on and the South Park RPG that's coming out that they'd be fine.
I'd hate to see them go under, hopefully everything works out alright for them. I've a soft spot in my heart for THQ, I do.

It's only a matter of time now. I wonder if WWE '14 will get canned, or if they'll finish it just in time? They would sell the license and try to get it out. Wouldn't get them as much as UFC did, but I'm sure someone would take it. I wouldn't expect many of their series to be canned no matter what. It would be crazy if The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise (working title) didn't come out.
