He's been scewed out of a couple of wins over Punk.
He's the babyface. Punk is the heel.
Isn't Ryback supposed to get over at some point? Doesn't he finally get his revenge -- not over Maddox or the Shield, but over the champ he's been cheated against?
It bothers me that the resolution in Ryback's favor seems to be nowhere on the radar, not before WM and probably not after.

When they have their match in January Punk will win and Ryback will probably put him through a table after the match or something. With Rock looming on the horizon I wouldn't expect anything more.

Good guys don't always win, man. Even the popular ones who actually should.
Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown WWE.

I can see Punk challenging Ryback for the WHC on a couple PPVs in the post-'Mania season, before he inevitably turns face again.

If not for The Rock's involvement, they could've had Ryback end his reign at Mania. Which it really should end at Mania and not the rumble but that's a whole other issue.

probably, but only after the Rock gets the belt off him. because god forbid they change their plans in order to make a new star.

Honestly, I doubt it. CM Punk vs. The Rock at Royal Rumble looks to be set in stone at this point.

I mean, Triple H and Undertaker still have a few good matches in them. And Jericho's good for a couple times a year. Hell, maybe Shawn Michaels is willing to throw the tights on one more time. Anybody know what Austin's up to these days?

I'd really like to believe that the signs are all bait and switch, Ryback will win the Rumble, Punk will beat the Rock at the Rumble, and when all hope is lost, Ryback dethrones Punk at Wrestlemania. Making him a made man and giving him a Wrestlemania moment in the main event of the biggest event of the year.
Instead, he'll probably be getting one of the Shield at Wrestlemania, if they're even booked for it.

What about him absolutely destroying Punk two weeks ago on RAW?

I'm going to laugh if Punk retains at the Rumble and retains at Wrestlemania too.

Let's not start acting like workrate has stopped WWE from pushing wrestlers in the past.

I'm going to laugh if Punk retains at the Rumble and retains at Wrestlemania too. I'd die of a mark out stroke.
