No, AJ's the only one who has a head on her shoulders. Her only "crazy" part was lack of sleep. Her going crazy here would really be OOC.

Agreed. Besides, we see enough episodes where the characters snap when their plans go awry, so seeing Applejack stay in the "reasonably wrong" territory was nice for a change.

"Filler" is a pretty good way of describing this episode. Though at least it was good filler and not totally terrible like... just about every anime filler ep. I've seen the last few years.
