Well just finished up the ep now.

I think I'd be in the same field as Koda in that an major contributor to my enjoyment of this episode is the fact that in real-life I have a strong relationship with my cousins and my extended family, in fact next week I'm heading over to visit my cousins in England. So the idea and the lesson behind this episode were things I can really relate to.

It was cool seeing all the members of the Apple family and it was great to see Applejack being the main focus again as I often think she's a little underrated in the fandom (just personal opinion). Song was fun but not one of the strongest the show has had to offer.

Overall, fun episode, great message, good time.
I'd give it a strong 8.

Seen as Applebloom said everyone was coming, I think we can make the reasonable assumption that they are actually dead.

I don't think I got as much out of this episode as you guys really close to your families because my extended family is kinda small. Also, really annoying with some being outright assholes. We don't really have much in the way of family functions and when we do, I usually find a way to get out of them.
