I agree. What do they sing again?
And what kind of name is Godsmack anyway?

I saw them live right when their debut album came out. They opened for Fear Factory. They did put on a decent live show but overall,I'm not a fan. I don't necessarily hate them but don't really like them either. They're just kind of there for me.

And what kind of name is Godsmack anyway? Name of an Alice In Chains song, because they were an AIC coverband before getting big. And, yeah, they suck. Thankfully, I haven't heard them in as long as it has been since WWE used their music last. Just dreadful... that entire period of mainstream music (rock, rap, pop, country, all encompassing) in the late very late nineties and very early 2000s was one of the worst periods for mainstream music, possibly ever. They were but a piece of the nu-metal/post-grunge bullshit on alt rock radio... Argh, I thought I had properly forgotten about them.

That one song where he's pissed off and says "Go Away" is awesome!

Are they still around?
The last tune I remember from them was "I stand alone" The one they did for the Scorpion King movie.

One of the bands that got me into rock (I was 11 when they became prominent, so I was the target audience). Not the best, but still enjoyable. Didn't enjoy their last album that much.

Their old stuff is pretty good, but some of the new stuff like whiskey hangover and their awful cover of Rocky Mountain Way are just bad. Probably still in my top 20-25 favorite bands but they've fallen pretty hard in the last few yeras.

I don't think many people disagree with you. This isn't some shocking opinion.

Same here. I liked them when they first came out but I quickly grew out of them.

I remember loving their first two albums when they originally came out (I was in 8th/9th grade at the time). I listen back to them now and am in disbelief over how bad they really are.

My fondest memory of them is that they gave Opie of Opie and Anthony their demo tape before they hit big, and he threw it out the window, if I recall. A different DJ gave them a shot, and is credited with giving them their big break. It is funny when people I like sabotage themselves.

I don't think losing out on being credited with giving Godsmack their big break would feel like much of a loss. Its like saying you're sad because you didn't get to poop in the green porta pottie before they took it away when all of the other porta potties were blue.

I was a big fan of their first two albums, and they put on a great live show. Haven't listened to them in years, though.
