At least I'm kind of excited for the HOF now.
Just give me Demolition and you can fill the rest of the class with whoever the hell you want.

Yes! Backlund getting in is pretty damn cool! Maybe now, having another champion from the WWWF era might break down Bruno's resistance toward being inducted.

I figured with Backlund back on TV this year this would happen, but it was still kind of a nice surprise.
And I did have the thought that if there was any chance Bruno was considering going in (knowing there probably isn't), having a class of "legit" wrestling greats couldn't hurt the cause.
Really interested to see if Backlund will finally "retire" his heel character he's been using since he turned way back. It'd be nice to see him talk like a normal human being.

What's the story of Bob Backlund flat out turning down the hall of fame a few years back?
I'm happy for him that he's going to be in. Definitely deserves it.

Race, Morales, Valentine or Hansen would all be good choices to induct him. I would also go with Graham, but he wouldn't do it for personal or health reasons. It's a shame Skaaland is dead, that would have been my choice...almost a way to "publicly apologize" for the towel incident.

Funny, I didn't know that Bob Backlund WASN'T in the Hall of Fame and will be inducted this year. It would be awesome if Daniel Bryan inducted him.

Spoiler for who may be inducting Foley, not sure if its already been posted {Spoiler} 411mania » Wrestling » News Share5 Advertisement Who Will Induct Mick Foley Into WWE Hall Of Fame? Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.23.2013Take a guess… - At this time, Terry Funk is said to be the person expected to induct Mick Foley to the WWE Hall of Fame. It has been noted that Funk was a big inspiration to Foley as the two worked together many times both as opponents and partners during their careers. Credit: Pwinsider.com via wrestlezone.com The right choice in my opinion. Snuka would have been great especially with it being the Garden but I think Funk overall had the most impact throughout Foleys career. Although they could try having both of them inducting him, which I wouldn't be against. To be fair, either one of them you can't go wrong with.

Any time that chap can get on the mic, the better. Probably the most genuine person I've ever seen in wrestling.

You would have thought Backlund would have been one of the first inductees. In the early days of the Hall of Fame, Backlund was still active on the roster, having just come back in 93 when Andre was tossed into it, then in 94, 95 and a brief period in 96 as his crazy old man gimmick. Until recently the report was that Backlund wasn't accepting because he felt that it meant he was retired, and wasn't ready to do that just yet.
