Ryback is boring as sin and a completely unoriginal monster face who is going to beat Mark Henry at Mania and then just wallow around as a Kane-face like useless midcard face of destruction for the rest of his uninteresting and mediocre career.
That being said, would it be a good idea to have Ryback come out of the closet, but not as a joking effeminate stereotypical gay character, but a chatracter who just comes out legit, shows us his partner, tells us he's in love and happy in his skin and then we seldomly speak of his sexual preferences again outside of some heels poking fun at him on occasion just to have to face Rybacks wrath at a future date?
The character would be unique in the industry, certainly nothing we've ever seen before and would grant the WWE a lot of much craved press by having an openly gay character who isn't the stereotypical nancy-boy gay character we've seen in the past/

I am seriously tired of these "there should be a gay badass" gimmick threads.

I am seriously tired of these "there should be a gay badass" gimmick threads. Do you have something more interesting to do with Ryback moving foward? something other than run around going "ARGHHH FEED MEE" and being a lifetime midcarder?

I'd love a "gay badass" character, but it shouldn't be Ryback.
Honestly, it's a bit stereotypical, but I'd rather it be one of the "generic calendar model" types. Someone that the WWE can "market" to the gay community the same way that the Divas are marketed to us. Someone who can be a damn good talker on the mic. He doesn't act stereotypically gay, but at the same time, he has no problem with making fun of his fallen opponents for "getting beaten up by a f*****".

Wouldn't the best way to book a badass gay guy is to get someone who is actually gay?
What point would it be to have Ryback all the sudden like men? How is that a gimmick in itself? That's about as equivalent to the wrestling aspect of things as having a wrestler who likes to whistle...and at least you could market that and make that a visible part of his gimmick. How would you do that with Ryback...by giving him a relationship with another wrestler? How the hell do you think that would fly by the audience?

Someone who loves hair products? Someone who loves crotches 2 faces? You know it!! BTW Gay Ryback would be the worst. Just sayin. BTW fans love Ryback. There is no way they would somehow embrace him more because he is a gay man. It would kill any possible appeal he has. Just couldnt work. Being a realist here.

They already tried having him as a gay badass. Just try to look at Skip Sheffield as anything but, I dare you.

Again, I have to question why sexual preference should be a part of a gimmick?
I mean, would it be so wrong to have someone who is legit gay, get a massive push, yet not overly mention his sexuality? I mean, it's not like Goldberg was constantly referenced as Jewish, or how Rock was the first African American champion. I mean, does it mean less if it isn't open? I don't get how it does any good or bad.

Maybe the character doesn't have to actually be a homosexual. He can be bi, or they can just say he "has sex with men" (which some people do even if they identify as straight).

I am seriously tired of these "there should be a gay badass" gimmick threads. This. And do people seriously trust WWE to actually have a subtle gay character?

Also keep in mind that wrestling isn't normally the kind of entertainment which gets heavily involved in the personal affairs of the wrestlers outside of the ring.
And the times they do (Cena/AJ), it just turns out to be a complete disaster.
If you ever want a gay wrestler TREAT HIM LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I mean, if you have a gay friend, do you publicly out him when you introduce him to someone new? That's kind of f***ed up. If they ever did decide to promote his/her sexuality, give them a platform that would allow for them to do it which would make sense, like a rally or a parade or a something where they can show a clip where the person is allowed to be who they want to be, that's how you do it. You don't make it part of their gimmick, that's stupid.

I could imagine every commentator having to end their sentences with, "not that there's anything wrong with that".

Yeah but when would be the appropriate time to throw out that he has sex with men? It's just weird. No one ever just points out that the current wrestlers have sex with women. Well, on WWE TV, most heterosexual relationships aren't really that sexual. Most of the time, heterosexual relationships amount to making out onscreen. Very rarely is any sort of sexual expression or activity actually implied. Even the most recent remark by Daniel Bryan about AJ and Dolph Ziggler is fairly innocuous compared to other television programming. WWE: where everyone dry-humps one another.

"Feed me more" would take on a bit of a different meaning.
Also isn't Ryback's entrance theme called Meat?
