Just finished listening to the first half of this interview and it's awesome. Much like Jim Cornette, I could listen to Steen talk all day and never get bored. I know the chances of it happening are slim to none, but if Colt had Cornetter on his show, I think it'd be great too! 2nd part probably kills any chance of Colt and Jim sitting together.

I hung out with that guy from Scotland at ASW both nights. He was a really cool guy; his dedication to the company blew me away. His accent was a little thick though, but it kind of made him cooler for having it. Yeah to spend all that money pretty much coming from the other side of the world is an incredible example of commitment and dedication to a genuinely great and unique product. And that kind of stuff gives me confidence to do something like that, if he can do it and be not looked down upon for how passionate he is about it then it gives others around the world a chance to visit and feel welcomed. It's a win for all parties, they must also be happy with gaining such an underground following locally as well with celebrities even getting involved. It just seems like a great group of people having fun but at the same time doing something great with awesome ring work. It's nice for that its almost in between super serious ROH (which I was a huge fan of until about about a year ago) and Chikara (which I really want to like but it just really takes some time to get into such an outgoing [if thats the right word] product, almost to the point of alienation unless I am in the right mood to watch it). It's really telling how they raised the ticket prices and as far as I am aware from what they said not one complaint was raised, and they still sell out the first row seats just as quickly as they used to.

That guy was the life of the party that whole weekend. Everybody from the fans, to the wrestlers, to Supes and Excalibur made that guy's weekend. Anyways, you should do it. We here in Reseda are very welcoming to newcomers. Hell we have regulars that come to every show from San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. We had a group of guys from Vancouver come down for ASW as well, but I think they might have been tight with Kyle O'Reiley.

Its on my bucket list , I just have Wrestlemania to do first then it shall have my full attention (then after it would be going to a NJPW show. Trying to do it one step at a time though lol). I can honestly say I haven't met many Americans that haven't been friendly in all the times I have been over, both as as a child and as a young adult every time with the family. My family and I were going to move to Indianapolis for a couple of years during my late teen years due to my dad being requested to move over to help the company's branch in Indiana, when I visited the school that I would have gone to I felt incredibly welcomed, especially for someone who can be as awkward as I am socially sometimes. It just seems so natural to you guys to welcome people, and you saying that is also greatly appreciated and it helps me think it won't be as scary as I think it would be coming over by myself.

You'll be fine out here. We're very friendly to talk to because it's all we have before the show starts. I mean, the Legion Hall is hidden in between two shady looking apartment complexes in an already kinda shady neighborhood. We have nothing but to talk to each other for two or three hours in line before the show starts.

I have been living in San Diego for over 3 years now and have yet to make it out to PWG. I'm heavily considering going to their next event but worried that I would get there and it would be sold out.
As far as this episode of the podcast goes, I was completely shocked. Kevin and his last two podcasts with Colt did nothing for me...it was kind of depressing. This podcast had me wanting to drive up and see him live and buy his merch...he seemed like a different dude altogether. Colt has been on a roll with quality guests and good conversations.

For those that are wondering what it's like to meet Steen, if you meet him at a show, he's pretty much always in gimmick.
Me: Hey, man, I just wanted to say its awesome to meet you. You're one of the reasons I finally bit the bullet and started wrestling training.
Steen: THANK YOU, I REALLY F***ING APPRECIATE THAT!!!! THAT'S REALLY F***ING AMAZING TO HEAR!!!!!

Any thoughts on who the guy who'd never seen The Rock's float over DDT was?
From the fact he was a top champion, and how Colt said it, I'm thinking Miz.

Miz was a wrestling fan though, I highly doubt he never saw that. I'm thinking Swagger. That's what I was thinking - Miz definitely seems like he's been a fan forever (especially considering the way he talked about becoming a wrestler on the Real World), and, as far as I can tell, he never wrestled in FCW except when he returned as a "main roster guy" (Colt mentioned that it was at FCW - it's possible he was remembering it wrong and just conflated "developmental" with "FCW," but, assuming it was FCW, it is incredibly unlikely it would be Miz). Really, the only two guys that I can think of it being after a quick glance at the guys that were at FCW while Colt was there are Swagger and Ezekiel Jackson - just about everyone else that became a champion had wrestling experience before signing with WWE, so I figure they would know a bit more about wrestling. And Zeke doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would have the sort of reaction that Colt described.

Isn't he from some foreign country? It is certainly possible he grew up not seeing much wrestling. Swagger I know was signed right out of college and I don't think I've read anything about him being a fan before hand. But it has to be one of them, there aren't many that've been champion since like 2008 that this could apply to. Miz and Ziggler were fans, Bryan and Punk obviously worked the indies and Sheamus did the same in Europe, Del Rio comes from a wrestling family and worked in CMLL, everyone else were either champions before (Cena/Orton/etc) or had been in the company for awhile (Christian/Henry/etc) so it couldn't be any of them. It pretty much has to be Swagger or Zeke

This is one of my favorites, chatting about the zoo, chatting about actual behind the scenes (cornette/roh) stuff that they sometimes try and keep away from, this ones got everything

Listened to this weeks episode today. Definitely one of the best episodes, up there with Pac, Domino in Nigeria and William Regal episodes. The behind the scenes stuff, the praise of PWG fans and Steens Zoo adventures made it a great listen.
And for the record, I was one of the people that showed up to the failed $5 Movie in Melbourne.

Episode 151. Dave Meltzer. Wrestling Observers Dave Meltzer comes to talk with Colt. Dave is the guy who popularized the telllings of insider wrestling information to a generation of fans. Hear how he went from a journalist student to one of the most informed people in wrestling.

Always interesting to hear how out of touch Jim Cornette really is. Why do wrestling companies keep hiring him? about 3 years ago when he was Anti-TNA and WWE and shooting all over Youtube, everyone thought he had the greatest mind in wrestling next to Heyman.
