Bit surprised to see Anya get released. She was young, had a different look and had a kickboxing background. Plus she's injured so she didn't really have a chance. I hadn't heard how good or bad she was in the ring until this thread so if she was horrible then that's understandable. Although, everyone has to start somewhere...

It's a bummer for guys like Bateman and Watson, they could've been something, at least at midcard level. I could see both in TNA.

They had a billion dollar cash cow in Percy Watson and they just sent it to slaughter. Such a shame.

Because some of these released guys have talent and potential that was ultimately wasted. And some of their fans would rather see Y on TV than X, especially the Raw SuperShow era where Midcard spots are limited due to main-eventer oversaturation. Well, if they wasted the talent, it's their loss in the long run. I'd argue that it's worse to have them hanging around doing nothing for years than to have them prove themselves in another company. How can they prove themselves when the general wrestling fanbase thinks that WWE IS wrestling. They can succeed, but no one will know aside from smarks like us. WWE ultimately ruined these guys with the way they handled them. Bateman or Percy could go on to win titles elsewhere but they'd still have the fact that they "didn't amount to anything in the WWE" hanging over their heads. I don't even know if I'd want to see them in TNA, because no one takes TNA seriously, what with the whole "What's X Doing in the Impact Zone?" jokes and whatnot.

I'd like to see Bateman team with Trent? as a heady, comedy tag team somewhere.
Bateman and Percy are perfect examples of Vince not getting people's humor that doesn't involved bad breath and ass-related jokes. If I remember correctly someone that was behind the scenes said that Percy's original glasses gimmick was dropped because no one could explain what the character was to Vince.

Very few knew they existed in the first place so leaving WWE and going somewhere else won't hurt them at all. Also, plenty of people are aware of TNA, its stars and keep up with them, they just don't watch on the levels that WWE gets. Are there jokes, yeah but just as many are made about WWE. Going there or ROH and getting TV time is only a benefit.

A world where Percy Watson isn't in WWE is a world I don't want to live in. Here here. Today's a sad day for lovers of the old style NXT. As I type this I'm watching Teddy Long make a 6 man tag match on Smackdown. The more things change the more they stay the same.

And that's exactly why Vince needs to be forced out. I don't give a shit if he doesn't get it. The product isn't being made for him. It's for the fans, and just like Paul Burchill, if the fans want it, GIVE IT TO THEM! Don't scrap it because you're stuck in the Stone Age.

Even when he was on NXT Season 2 and incredibly green, Percy Watson was great fun. Sucks to see him gone without a chance to do more.
As for the "release Orton" debate above, for how far he's fallen off, dude still gets big pops and probably sells a fair amount of t-shirts. Even though he can't be trusted in big angles anymore, WWE probably still makes a tidy profit from keeping him around.

The problem is just that Orton is not being used in any real beneficial way. If they can't trust him in big angles, why can't they just officially move him to the midcard division or use him as a gatekeeper/legitimizer.

And he can still be a 'in case of emergency' type guy. Just like Big Show and Kane, where they spin the wheels doing much of nothing for months then next thing you know they're in the title hunt.

Sorry to be a buzzkill to those that want Bo Dallas cut, but (spoilered for those that don't want NXT spoilers)... {Spoiler}He's going to win a Battle Royal in 2 weeks (TV time) to challenge Big E Langston for the NXT title. So at the very least we have Bo until June.
