I don't think anyone is denying Orton's usefulness. The problem is just that Orton is not being used in any real beneficial way. If they can't trust him in big angles, why can't they just officially move him to the midcard division or use him as a gatekeeper/legitimizer. He's not a midcarder, thats why. And he can still be a 'in case of emergency' type guy. Just like Big Show and Kane, where they spin the wheels doing much of nothing for months then next thing you know they're in the title hunt. The difference is that WWE aren't being being cautious when it comes to pushing Big Show or Kane. And with such a top-heavy roster, there are LOTS of options for "in case of emergency" guys.

He's still only feuding with other main eventers, on Smackdown, which could use some over guys.

Aces and eights just got a higher power, a high chief, a COO and a financier.
What's Sokamishu doing in the Impact Zone doing Tazz? What's Zach Diggler... What's Eduardo Murphy... What's Aubrey Maria... - They are our backbone of Aces and Eights, baby. No one can stop us now, baby! *cue 65 yr old Hulk Hogan music (or whatever his age is)* - Ok, no one but Hulk, but he's the future of wrestling Tenay.

Sorry to be a buzzkill to those that want Bo Dallas cut, but (spoilered for those that don't want NXT spoilers)... {Spoiler}He's going to win a Battle Royal in 2 weeks (TV time) to challenge Big E Langston for the NXT title. So at the very least we have Bo until June.

Open a new center, get rid of talent. Seems legit. Smart people at that WWE.

Well, if they wasted the talent, it's their loss in the long run. I'd argue that it's worse to have them hanging around doing nothing for years than to have them prove themselves in another company. How can they prove themselves when the general wrestling fanbase thinks that WWE IS wrestling. They can succeed, but no one will know aside from smarks like us. WWE ultimately ruined these guys with the way they handled them. Bateman or Percy could go on to win titles elsewhere but they'd still have the fact that they "didn't amount to anything in the WWE" hanging over their heads. I don't even know if I'd want to see them in TNA, because no one takes TNA seriously, what with the whole "What's X Doing in the Impact Zone?" jokes and whatnot. They could have "didn't amount to anything in WWE" hanging over their heads, or, if they show what they're made of, they could be one of those "WWE dropped the ball on..." guys. If they can prove that the WWE threw away a lot of potential, then it would potentially be the WWE who would come crawling back.

While some wrestlers have been released and come back, those guys were pretty young (Chris Masters, Idol/Sandow) or attained a certain point of notoriety (Matt & Jeff Hardy) at the time of their initial releases. Percy and Bateman are already in their early 30s, and Briley is 28. They'll all be a bit older by the time they "show what they're made of" and WWE probably won't have any interest because they don't even bother signing anyone over 30 anymore. This wouldn't upset me so much if WWE weren't pretty much the only game in town.

Just noticed the thread about Bateman being cut and instantly thought of "America f*** Yea" bummer version. Dang, I couldn't wait to see him on tv.... Hopefully he comes back in the future and given a chance on Smackdown.

It's been a couple hours and I still can't get over the fact that they fired Briley.
At least now I don't have to watch NXT anymore, much like Smackdown and Punk-less Raw.

I'm a fan of Bateman. Sucks, but I'd rather he get an opportunity to be an active player somewhere else than sit and wait for another five years.

Bateman is awesome, really sucks to see him go.
I thought they'd keep Audrey Marie until they needed to do another Vince bastard child angle.

I haven't seen him since he looked like Eddie Murphy from Bowfinger, but Percy Watson was pretty over when he was on NXT. It's amazing that the more potential you show, the less interested they seem at times. I mean christ, Brodus Clay of all people got pushed hard once NXT was done, whereas Johnny Curtis waited almost 2 f***in' years to finally get his push.

To be fair, before Dirty Curty, there was just no there there. He was an empty suit, or trunks I suppose, with no real personality other than Kaitlyn-lite. And he was worse in FCW. Brodus Clay's elimination promo on the NXT4 finale was more impressive than anything Johnny Curtis did that season.

If Audrey getting cut means they can hire FANDANGIRL full time, I welcome this change.
