Well with Slammiversary finished, its time to kick of the yearly TNA summer tradition, the BFG series. 12 wrestlers total, competing weekly from now till September to determine the four tournament particpants, which decides the challenger to the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory. Last year's tournament rocked, so high hopes for this one.

I'd take one of them out, maybe two and throw in Abyss and someone from the Aces to "run interference" for Bully, maybe Anderson.

Likely, though I'd like to see Abyss work alongside Sting (now realizing all he can be is a leader not a title challenger), and various TNA guys to deal with Aces and Eights and keep them away from the series, so that a true challenger to Bully can be decided.

My guesses would be
-Bradley -Storm -Roode -Aries -Angle -Styles -Joe -Magnus -Morgan -Hardy -Devon -Anderson
Nice mix of heels and faces, and a couple of Aces, because it wouldn't shock me to see Anderson sell out his stablemates and go for the gold.

Last year, they didn't have the TV Champion or the X-Division Champion in there, so I do wonder if they'll have Abyss or Chris Sabin in there. So I'd keep Abyss out, plus I wouldn't want him to take any pinfall losses.
I would go by the 6 heel, 6 babyfaces, or well, 6 heels, 5 babyfaces, and 1 legit tweener in AJ. So
Tweener: AJ Styles
Babyfaces: -James Storm -Gunner -Samoa Joe -Kurt Angle -Jeff Hardy
Heels: -Bobby Roode -Austin Aries -Christopher Daniels -Kazarian -Jay Bradley -Matt Morgan
Looking at this, the biggest omission is Magnus. Now, we could take out Matt Morgan and throw Magnus in there and that would be fine. I don't really want any Aces and 8s guys. One could say they could run interference, but they could do that by screwing up the matches without being in them. I threw in Gunner because it looks like they're giving him a push, and if Storm is in there, I feel Gunner should be.
Also, I think Kazarian should get a shot in the BFG picture. He's one of the most improved wrestlers in the past few years in TNA, and he deserves some of that spotlight. Plus, you have three teams in there and that could make for good television when they have to wrestle.

I'd keep Abyss out, mainly because Bully needs a couple of guys to defend the title against between now & BFG. Sabin & Abyss would be good guys to defend against, Sabin cashes in the X-Division title & gets the shot at one of the big episodes of Impact(ala Hardy on 4/11) & Abyss could also get a gimmick match with him for the title on another big episode of Impact.

Is there anybody who might be in it that people would like to see get a "breakout" performance? They tried to force the issue with Crimson and Gunner a couple of years ago, which didn't go so well, but they made really good use of the tournament last year to reestablish Samoa Joe as an upper-card/main event player.
I'd love to see Kaz get a crack at it this year; not necessarily win it all, but have a really good showing and get to cement his spot as somebody who could legitimately challenge for the World Title, even if he never wins it.

Even if Abyss is out, they could use Joe Park for the series.

I'd like to see Jay Bradley be the break out guy. TNA needs to make new stars, and they could use the BFG series to build them up. Kazarian is another good one. With that, I'd have in the final four, Jay Bradley, Kazarian, AJ Styles and Kurt Angle, with Angle and AJ in the finals, based on the stuff they're doing now, and maybe in the end, you can do the handshake thing with AJ going into Bound for Glory to fight for TNA and the World TItle.

The problem with putting Matt Morgan in the Series is that he will have to job at least a few times, so if they intend on pushing him as a monster (passing out to Sting aside), then being in the Series will probably hurt him. That is one reason why AJ jobbing to Angle on Sunday, even though it sucked, may work because now AJ can job in the BFG Series and not have it be a momentum killer. The format is not meant for monster gimmicks, so I would leave Morgan and Abyss out of it.
My guess is:
Styles Hardy Angle Joe Magnus Storm Roode Aries Bradley
.....are locks. That leaves three spots, which could go to a lot of guys (Daniels, Kazarian, Gunner, Park, Anderson, Devon, etc).

Sabin shouldn't be in, because Hogan mentioned the X-Division's choice of title shot at Destination X (in spite of the fact that Destination X doesn't exist as a PPV right now).

So either AJ or Angle is going to be in the BFG series but not both of them? That's weird to me.

Same with Kaz & Daniels and Storm & Gunner. That's already 3 of the "big names" (well, except Gunner, I guess) out of the series.

Kaz is a good pick. TNA doesn't have many potential/rising stars. It feels like almost everyone has peaked, with a few exceptions like Magnus and Kenny King.

You know, maybe since NBC is too stubborn to use this theme, maybe we should use this for the Bound For Glory series.

Just realised that the AJ/Daniels can never wrestle again stipulation is going to have to be waved for this seen as they'll need to at least compete once in the series.
I am not sure how to feel about this one :/

I am not sure how to feel about this one :/ I'd love to see Daniels trying to win the match via forfeit, because the old stipulation can't be broken, and he should be awarded the victory because of his exquisite taste in clothes, comics, and martinis.
