Really the issue is that it never felt as important as it should have. Too much other nonsense going on so the actual sport like feel and Impact really revolving around the BFG series matches like it did last year just did't happen.
If there's another one next year, I hope they just try and emulate the 2012 season, and realize how disappointing this one ended up being.

So, now that it's all said and done, what did you guys think of the series? I thought this year's tournament was pretty lame. Even ignoring the screwy format, the match quality wasn't as high as it was last year and the whole thing just felt overshadowed by the Stable Wars BS. There was a great mix of talent and it led to some good storylines, and the only people that looked bad in the final standings were the guys that were outclassed like Bradley, Hernandez, and Park. However, the fact that they bait and switched us leaves such a horrible taste in my mouth, and was an insult to anyone who wanted to keep with the Series.

Yeah the 2012 BFG Series should be the barometer for how they do it going forward. That was booked near perfectly and had a great talent roster involved. The 2013 BFG Series was disappointing, though not as bad as 2011, and I think the Final Four was very good (AJ/Magnus in particular, I think that was the first match Magnus had which had a big match feel to it).
Hopefully without Aces and Eights, the 2014 Series will be better booked.
