After having read his work on Superman's origin and the New 52 Justice League, I have to ask, has Geoff Johns written anything that was actually good? I've heard he did good stuff on Green Lantern but it's never been a series I've been interested in that much and the stuff I've read on him so far just makes me want to avoid anything he's been involved in. Well obviously his GL. His Wally West Flash was top notch. His JSA is supposed to be good but I never read it. The Trials of Shazam back ups in the New 52 JL is much better than the actual JL book.

His original run on JSA was quite excellent, although I always felt David Goyer's role in co-writing that series is highly underrated. If he did nothing else, he seemed to keep Johns' Silver Age fanboyism in check.

Well, I got a super advance preview of a new Image Book called RAT QUEENS. Its by the same guy who wrote Green Wake and Peter Panzerfaust and I've gotta say, it looks like it'll be a hit. The same people who like Saga will probably get down on this. The first issue is pretty witty and has solid action. www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=17136

Surprised about VENOM, actually. I had a good feeling that it'd make it to #50, but I guess #42 will be it.
I don't really get why they don't label ALL final issues as such in the solicits, only some....

So, Bleeding Cool reporting on what they believe the big event that is suppose to occur in the new FOREVER EVIL story is: Silliness, is what. {Spoiler}At this point, it might be more sensible or meaningful to just kill him and get rid of that Didio boner.

I wanna say that he's gonna be the Batman we keep seeing with the villains. I don't want to believe that's Bruce.

Wow, that BATMAN & NIGHTWING issue was.........amazing. Tomasi really got Damian. Also, I'm enjoying the hell out of DC's HE-MAN comic too. Giffen's doing a bang-up job and the art, from a guy who I hated in the late '90s, is very good and fits the book well. And all these changes - {Spoiler}Sorceress is dead, she's Teela's mom (something kinda hinted at in the past a little but never expanded on), Randor knowing who He-Man is, and everything to do with Despara. .........I'd heard Mattel never liked comics people changing the basic structure of MOTU very much, so kudos to them for letting all this happen.

It really does seem like all of Marvel's comics in the NOW era (same can be said for DC as well) have to play some role in the grander scheme of the company's big event directives.
The comics just being done for fun - like DC's digital first comics (most of which are starting to end, of course) - or with no real specific agenda that influence other books are becoming fewer and fleeting.

The comics just being done for fun - like DC's digital first comics (most of which are starting to end, of course) - or with no real specific agenda that influence other books are becoming fewer and fleeting. tell that to Brian Azzarello. he pretty obviously gives 0 f***s about what anyone else is doing with Wonder Woman, and his comic's the better for it. as for Justice League of Canada, I am very much down for that. I liked most of the cast of the book, but Johns still hasn't given anyone a reason to give a damn about the book. his work these days, with the exception of Aquaman, feels mostly like he's just going through the motions and doing whatever books DC gives him whether he wants to write them or not (kinda like Bendis with Avengers, actually). as I recall it's implied that New 52 Booster Gold is Canadian, so maybe he'll be added to the book. I'm going to assume Stargirl's leaving, though, because All-american superteen doesn't exactly scream "people in Canada would love to have you represent them".
