Spencer & Liber's Superior Foe's #1 was HI-frickin-LARIOUS.
Pretty much the most un-Marvel Marvel-character book. Just fun and jokes then more fun and then jokes. It might be the first Marvel comic I've subscribed to in decades.

Yeah, it was a decent book.
I dont really care about the other characters in it, and it certainly wasn't the Boomerang I came to like in Thunderbolts presented.
But still, it was fun.

If I'm not too lazy (which I probably will be ), I may go back and read through Morrison's Batman run again before the 24th when the last issue of Batman, Incorporated comes out. Really looking forward to how Morrison is going to end his big run. I hope they give Chris Burnham something good because I've liked his art during the series.

Doombot was fun, and Viz and Vic work. Pym......no, this Humphries guy doesnt get him at all.
The SHIELD agent is a bitch, and not a fun glorious bitch, but just a 'please dont appear again but I know you're going to cos you are in all the solicits' way

OK, I have a question that I had to ask, not following comics and seeing something from a comic. In a recent issue of She-Hulk, apparently she had a bunch of super shrunken supervillains crawling on her hand at ant size or smaller, and then she had to fight them when they were about the size of action figures thanks to Pym Particles making them bigger. I have to know...why were all those villains so tiny in the first place? I vaguely recall this. IIRC, this was from some years ago actually. Basically the plot at hand was that Pym (and others?) had decided to imprison supervillains in a micro-prison, so that if they ever broke out....they'd be like this: annoying (for humor's sake - this was when Dan Slott was writing SHE-HULK and it actually was funny) and rather ineffective without access to the Pym particles. Ah, OK. Was wondering because this was the panel I saw.

got the last Dark Avengers trade. man I'm going to miss Jeff Parker's work at Marvel. he took a concept that shouldn't have worked (and a name change that IMO really hurt the book all to appease one of Jeph Loeb's boys, that dipshit Dan Way) and turned it into a truly darkly funny book. I'm just sad that the OTT ending probably isn't going to be followed up anywhere, and the next time Moonstone shows up she'll probably be demoted back to "skanky idiot". Parker made me a real fan of hers, which was something even Kurt Busiek couldn't do. and the "ending" for Decapitator was some seriously great dark comedy. plus he did something that no writer has ever been able to do since I read Planetary and started watching Venture Bros.- he made me cheer for and actually feel bad for Reed Richards.

Made a couple of awesome purchases at 2nd and Charles... found 2 copies of Spawn #9 for a dollar a piece (one is even a newsstand edition). Seemed like a relevant purchase.
Also, picked up the new X Men #2 yesterday. Haven't read it yet, but I quite enjoyed the first issue.

I was going to try and complete some trade collection this weekend by getting a couple of Secret Six trades I was missing and a JiM one (the Gillen recent series)......until I saw people trying to charge £40+ for the ones I dont have.
The bloody floppies aren't worth that, why would a trade be!?

The bloody floppies aren't worth that, why would a trade be!? The trade is OOP (out of print). Like, you can find the first few issues of the pre-New 52 ZATANNA series very easily, if you have a LCS that gives a hoot about stocking back issues pretty well, but the TPB of those books is at least $30 on eBay. And this even includes versions of collections. There are some where the hardcover is easy to find, but the softcover version isn't (and vice versa).

Yeah, but who do they think is going to buy that?
If I can buy some floppies to read the set, or hell, do some illegal downloading, or even some legit downloading, why would I spend that much on a trade?
Just strikes me as idiots trying to drive up a price for something that just isnt going to ever deliver that sort of return unless idiots are desperate

The Prison your referring to was the Big House it had a hell of a lot of super villains like the U-Foes and the guards used versions of Pym's helmet to control ants to keep the inmates in line, the breakout was done by southpaw and the mad thinker

Well, the JLA is fighting. Yay.
Also, a bit of niceness in AVENGERS ARENA for a change, as someone comes back after a brief.....rest. Also, I think the VR excuse has been put out a window with this issue.
And Spidey got himself a big clubhouse after saving JJJ and pals. I'm very curious now to see what Otto-Spidey is up to, because things are really building up toward something crazy.

picked up the second Hickman Avengers trade. still good stuff but I feel at times he's kind of "reaching", like he's trying to tell a Grant Morrison-style story but the villains just aren't interesting enough to make it work. still a fun read though.

While not a comic per say, anyone else following the JL8 tumblr? Its honestly one of the best web comics Ive read. They wrapped up the first."season", so now might be a good time to read the stories in full. Plus, the writing is great and the art.style conveys a lot of interesting things.

That jl8 gets crazy good hype on twitter from a lot of creators.
Quantum and Woody. Did any one else read it? Valiant really nailed it with this one.

Morrison wishes he could still be half as complex and multifaceted as Hickman is now.

Yale writes a better Superman than the one we're getting in the comics right now. while we're on the subject of Webcomics, another one I like reading is Goblins. it's basically a big deconstruction of D&D, where a bunch of goblins get pissed off about being fodder for low-level adventurers and become an adventuring party themselves. it also makes fun of the "good/evil/law/chaos" axis by pointing out that a so-called paladin going around slaughtering everything willy-nilly is hardly a thing a good person would do. it gets a bit darker as it goes on but it's still a great read with increasingly vibrant art and great characterization. it also never loses its sense of humour, even as it gets more bleak. www.goblinscomic.org/archive/
