I'd say so. It looks incredible, although I'd agree that the 3D is really pointless for 90% of the film. Yeah the 3D is pointless, but the giant screen and awesome sound system that comes with the IMAX experience is really good. Godzilla's chilled me to the bone, cause the booming sound system was actually making me shake a little. The movie did have an incredible sound mix, which again I would recommend anyone to experience in ATMOS if possible. www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/content/movie/theater/find-a-cinema.htmlIn my area there's only one theater nearby that has one room with ATMOS. I'm happy that I did see Godzilla while it was playing there (I imagine it will be replaced with X-Men on Friday).

Godzilla raking in Kaiju stacks. Saw it a third time today with my little cousins, at zillas first appearance the 6 year jumped out of his seat and cheered. I hope legendary keeps spitting out these Kaiju films, 2000's has been so sad for my giant monster fix. Unfortunately Legendary won't be making any sequels due the their split with Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers have the film rights to Godzilla so it will be them or any other film company that jump on board that will be making any sequel. But who knows Legendary could still make a Kaiju film...if they acquire the rights for Gamera, Gappa or The X From Outer Space. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Deadline says the sequel will be developed by both Warner Bros and Legendary. Thomas Tull certainly didn't seem like he was finished with Godzilla. I'm pretty sure Edwards said he would be meeting with him to discuss a sequel if the film was a success.

So do Legendary and WB have 50/50 stake in the Godzilla film rights? So if a sequel is made they both have to do it? Saying this cause the partnership between Legendary and WB which began with Batman Begins a decade ago came to end with Godzilla. Legendary are now in a partnership with Universal where they working together to make Interstellar, Jurassic World and the Warcraft movie.. among others.

I was surprised too because I heard about the Universal deal and they had said Godzilla is the last movie they would be working on together.

Found the video where Edwards says he would be talking with Thomas Tull about a sequel if the film is a success.

I didn't like it. It didn't shit on the franchise the way the 1998 version did, but it was just kinda dull. I understand trying to build up anticipation, but eventually it just gets to the point where it's annoying and kind of a cop out. The last 20 minutes or so weren't too bad. Hopefully, the sequels better but as of now, I don't have much faith in Gareth Edwards.

I would've liked five to ten minutes of Godzilla being Godzilla in a Godzilla movie.
Also, Godzilla joining the navy was stupid.

Great Godzilla movie! I'm actually happy Godzilla wasn't overused since this was a return film for him. The MUTOs were cool and I liked that they were in the movie so much because this will probably be the only time we will ever see them. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Cranston was awesome! Ken Watanabe was great as well.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was bland, but I became a fan of his once he saved the kid in Hawaii and he started playing with the bomb. Elizabeth Olson and their kid were meh.
I'll admit the MUTOs aren't the most interesting Kaiju ever, but if you look at all the Godzilla movies most of the best monsters were created back in the Showa era.
I almost shit my pants when Godzilla powered up and you knew it was time for an atomic breath of destruction.
I'm glad it made so much money and look forward to sequels.

MUTOs had a serious Gyos vibe to them.
Loved it.

If it's more Godzilla footage then "YAY" If it's more Humans footage then "Piss off", We had enough of them boring gits in the original cut.

Too much humans, but not as obnoxiously so as the Transformers franchise. The monster fight left me wanting more. But real biggest markout: THEY USED A DUSTY SPRINGFIELD SONG IN THE SOUNDTRACK.

I did crack up inappropriately when Kickass was just kinda lying there even though the bomb was still ticking away. It's like: "Hey asshole, that is still a warhead you're supposed to be disarming, maybe get on that."

Yeah Dusty's the greatest. Saw this on Saturday night and really enjoyed it. Yeah, there was more humans than monsters but that's how Godzilla movies always go. It's usually a slow build until Godzilla shows up and f***s shit up. Main guy was kind of bland but I'm not watching this for him. This may have had the best trailer I've seen in years for not showing anything past the first 20 minutes. Really good movie, excited for a sequel.
