Imo, an ideal "gay character" should embody one or more qualities

A.) A Daniel Bryan-esque asskicker
B.) A John Cena-esque white bread superhero
C.) An Alex Riley-style clean cut jock
D.) A smirking dude-bro like The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, etc.

and he just happens to be ambiguous. He'll hit on the Divas and male wrestlers alike. Sometimes he'll even have douchebag comedy face tendencies. Like if some heel tries to insult his sexuality, he'll retort with a snarky comment like "That's not what you said last night", and then walks away smirking while the heel blushes in embarrassment.
