I think it'd be smartest to re-sign with TNA, unless he's getting a good deal to go to Japan.
I don't see a wrestler of his age and his size getting too much consideration from WWE, even if he is talented.

AJ Styles in WWE would be interesting.
Most likely disastrous, but very interesting nonetheless.

I see your point but he is 36, to compare him to RVD 42, Kane 46 and others on the current WWE roster (who are doing very well considering their age) I think he has enough time left to make ot worth while in the WWE. Especially since he changed his style in the past year or two that would be more applicable to the WWE style. I would really, really want to see him in the company, plus I think he can bypass developmental he is that talented.

I see a WWE stint for Mr Styles ultimately going as well as Bret Hart in WCW, or Gail Kim's second run in the WWE where management told her not to impress, but at least he'll have some fun TV matches with Punk and Bryan and make a decent amount of money in the process. Especially since he changed his style in the past year or two that would be more applicable to the WWE style. I would really, really want to see him in the company, plus I think he can bypass developmental he is that talented. While he's talented enough to bypass developmental, I don't think he should as the WWE use a different sized ring with different ropes to the rest of wrestling. It can be a real issue for people whose careers have been spent outside of the WWE, just ask Sin Cara, so a period to acclimatise may be needed.

I can't see AJ leaving TNA. Can I see creative using his upcoming contract expiration coupled with social media to make it APPEAR that he may be leaving? Damn straight.

At least TNA is a lot closer to what WWE is than the style than Mexico is, especially in recent years. But you are certainyly right about different ropes and ring etc. Plus getting used to the way they film and the way they position the crowd, that is very different from TNA. Probably a month maybe two would be best hypothetically if he was to go to WWE.

He's as old as Cena (who is on the downward slope of his career) is now, without the decade of exposure to the WWE crowd. TNA isn't on WCW's level right now, so him being a big-name TNA guy is going to have less carry over potential. In other words, I don't think he has the name value to immediately propel him high enough to make it worth his while, I don't think he's a big enough guy to really be a special attraction like Batista and Kane and Sheamus were, and I just don't think he has the time to climb up the card like other guys his size inevitably have to do. It's not a matter of talent, he's very talented, but he will have to compete with people a lot younger than him or limited tv time, and with a WWE schedule he may only have a few years of really being a top-level performer to make a splash. For where he is in his career, I really do think he'l get the most respect and best card placement re-signing than he would trying to go to WWE, where he will have to be re-packaged and start from, not the bottom as in FCW, but the bottom of the TV guys probably.

Styles needs a change of scenery. His career has stagnated big time since 2010. He reinvented himself and somehow managed to get more stagnant. He's a talent with a fanbase that could do a lot of good for Ring of Honor. With all the top indy talent in WWE/NXT, he'd fit right in there too. Developmental is strong now, maybe he wouldn't turn his nose up at the prospect of being there for a little bit.
I realize I'm completely ignoring finances, which is AJ's main concern I'm sure. But he's an example of someone who's been in the same company too long and needs to move on.

TNA.....for all that is holy, you BETTER get that contract to AJ Styles renewed. If you lose him, this company will have a huge hole in it where something strong used to be.

This one would be truly amazing. Let's say WWE does make him an offer and he jumps. It would seem like AJ is groomed to win the BFG Series, so what on earth would TNA do in this situation? I guess just pull the trigger on Magnus as a top guy?
Truth be told I think AJ does need to go to WWE. Thing is the guy is 36, which is a curious time to just be making a WWE debut.

On the other hand, while he may be as old as Cena, he hasn't been working the WWE schedule which really puts bodies through the wringer, just ask Brock Lesnar. It always amuses me to hear how <big name TNA guy> doesn't have a big enough name to make an impact in the WWE, given how they've managed to make guys like CM Punk and former ECW names seem like a big deal when they've performed for most of their careers until that point in front of a far smaller audience than TNA. If they want AJ Styles enough to offer him a better deal than he would get from TNA or Japan, they will get him over, even if they have to wait until a show in the smarkiest audience they can find. TNA isn't WCW, but it's not ECW either, they've had far, far more exposure on a national and international level.

I think if you introduced him via vignettes, if you wanna be petty to TNA, call him king of the indies, and build him up as someone who could be a must see. I don't think he'd get any higher than Christian, but that's not a bad position to be in either.

I don't know how he would do with WWE because WWE has had a history of being so schizophrenic on how they push their talent and what their requirements are for being pushed that it would be a crapshoot to predict how his career will go.
But the truth is that if AJ Styles loses TNA, this will be the biggest loss in TNA history. A guy who has been loyal to the company for more than twelve years and is basically THE FACE of your company. I hope to god that TNA gets this situation fixed.

I can't really see him going to WWE. Not that I think he couldn't do well there, it's just, if he was going, I figure he woulda tried years ago.

I seriously doubt that the E has much interest in AJ. I'd be honestly surprised if he ever ends up there.
