They have yet to make a belt that looks anywhere near as good, it never should have been replaced. The Big Eagle was a great follow up.

Heck, even if they just brought back the Attitude Era version it would still be head and shoulders above what they have now. My favorite belt ever. I never was really a fan of the winged eagle. I'm still baffled why the undisputed title had such a relatively short stay. The Heritage title should of returned straight after Cena's first reign.

The Big Eagle was a great follow up. The Attitude Era belt? Yep, probably the most perfect World title ever.

The Attitude Era version I am referring to was basically the winged eagle, but a bit more rounded off around the edges.

Yep, probably the most perfect World title ever. I was never much a fan of that belt because it's details are so hard to make out, especially looking back at old footage, parts of it needed to be defined way more so it didn't just look like a giant gold penny. I only knew there was a damn eagle on the thing because I looked at a replica years ago.

The Winged Eagle is my favorite title belt ever, followed by the Undisputed Title, then the Attitude Era. I think (for myself, anyway) I can sum up my hatred of the past 2 title belts in two areas: the blingy-ness, and the size of the logo. At first, I thought it was all the details that the older belts had that was the big plus to them. Then I looked at the spinner belt again. It has a lot of detail, but I hate the 2-tone color, and the logo is too huge. The shape of it is fine, but that's about all. The new title...absolutely hate almost everything about it. The shape, the obscenely huge logo, the abundance of black, and the garish "bling" throughout it all together make it the ugliest and my least-favorite of the "modern" (Winged Eagle to today) titles. But back to the OP's question, yes I would mark hard for a return to the Winged Eagle.

They should bring the old tag belts back too. I hate the giant Spartan pennies.

I only knew there was a damn eagle on the thing because I looked at a replica years ago. The only thing that would of work also, would of been a black out line like the Undisputed title for the eagle. I just love it, the way it centers the globe, no need of a name plate. The font and size of the CHAMPION area. Just an awesome belt. And was also perfect on anyone who held it.

The Winged Eagle and Attitude Era belts also had that "art deco" font I love so much

What's the story behind this belt? In my quick research, Hogan had this belt in 1985 and was used only once, presumably not on TV. Looks like he was wrestling Mr. Wonderful in this match. If you look closely, it looks like there is a picture of Hogan on the belt. Screw name plates, they used a picture!

I grew up on Big Gold in early 90s WCW, then switched over to WWF during Big Eagle, so my expectations of World Titles are skewed to them being big. I'm not saying it isn't a good design, I'm just saying it's too small for my tastes. The Winged Eagle, to me, looks like some midcard title you'd see on WCW or something.

Big Gold is too indistinct. No detailing can be seen unless it's up close. The fact that ECW used a crappy version of the Winged Eagle doesn't diminish the beauty of the belt in the WWF.

IMO the Big Gold Belt is the standard holder. It's telling looking at how long it's lasted compared to all the belts around it.
My favourite of the WWE world titles has to be the Undisupted Belt. I'm sorry it didn't get a longer run.

The Big Eagle/Attitude Era belt with the blue strap is probably my favorite world title of all time. It just looks really classy and distinct. That said, I do like the current WWE title, and with some exceptions think that the modern designs fit the current product better than the old school belts.
