Honestly, when I hear the term "World title", the Winged Eagle is always the first belt that comes to mind. Maybe it's just the fact that I grew up a diehard WWF fan in the early-to-mid 90s, but I can't think of a belt more emblematic of everything a World title should be. It has a class, elegance, and prestige that I've yet to see any successor match (and yes, that includes the Undisputed title).

I cannot stand that title. Much prefer the ones before it or the original BGB.

Cody Rhodes should be the one to bring it back whenever he wins the WWE Title.

It's small yes, but so is Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, etc. It was big enough for Hogan. Yoko, sid, diesel, and undertaker also looked just fine

Since I've got no attachment to it, it can stay gone.
I thought what they could've done is kept Swagger a contender and gave him a World Title run...to where he made his own belt by putting the Swagger Soaring Eagle on it, making it look eerily similar to the eagle belts people are so fond of.
See? This is one reason I'd never get any kind of booking power in the WWE. I'd totally troll y'all with a Jack Swagger title reign because I wouldn't understand the fondness for the eagle title.

I do want the undisputed title back. It was huge, it was prestigious, it was too short lived

Undisputed title was awful. It looked slapped together. The "World Wrestling Entertainment" banner stuck on the globe didn't help. Had a nameplate too. Way too busy

The Winged Eagle and the Attitude era belts were great belts.
The Undisputed title was horrid, I've never liked the WCW title and the Spinner/Thing they have now are also ugly as all hell.

Honestly, I would be happy with any WWE title pre spinner. From 86-2005 were all good titles.
They go to all that trouble to make sure not one calls their titles "belts", but in reality their last two WWE championships look like toys.
The current belt manufacturers they have right now, are worse than any they have ever had.
The IC title somehow looks worse than the ones in the mid 90's. when in theory it's the same title. The Tag team titles are no where near as good as the previous 3 designs The last 2 WWE titles have looked like toys, and the current one was designed by a motorcycle company. (OCC) The WHC is about 5 inches smaller than it was back in 2003 The Divas title is way uglier than the Women's title WWEECW title 2.0 used significantly cheaper leather.

To whoever says that either the Spinner or the Big Logo (as I've heard the newest version of the title referred to) look like toys...
I'm wonder what the hell kind of parents you had to give you toys with THAT MANY JEWELS and such on it.

The earlier posters were right...the WE debuted on Feb 5, 1988, on The Main Event (Hogan vs. Andre). But here's some trivia: in the pre-match interview, Hogan still has his 1986 belt on. When he comes out live, he has the new title. Weird, as you'd think the official unveiling would be at the end of the WMIV tournament.
As I said in the thread on (w)rest, I preferred Hogan '86 to the WE. Another poster said it looked small, and while it wasn't really, the plates were smaller than on '86. So it looked better if HBK, Bret, and other smaller wrestlers held it. The Attitude title was nice, but belts started losing the "classic" feel come 1998. Give me some gold with a big globe and black banners with "WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT WRESTLING CHAMPION" on it anyday!
The Daniel Bryan picture reminds me...what IS the situation now with what logos WWE can use and when? For a while, they were blocking just the scratch in pics and footage, then the scratch AND block in pictures only, then both in both, now in footage they can use all the logos and the initials "WWF," yet in the magazine and some footage and promos for Classics on Demand, all logos are blurred. Why did they change it in the first place, and why does it seem to keep changing thereafter?

No, it shouldn't come back. I think it'll be recieved well at first, but then people will complain that the current champion "doesn't deserve to hold the same belt that the legends of the past did."

It depends who the champion is. If WWE books people like Orton, Bryan, Punk etc....as champion, I doubt many people would have a problem with that. If they give the title to people like Sheamus, Del Rio and other glorified mid-carders, then they'd have cause to.

I think WWE would feel more inclined to put the Winged Eagle belt on "glorified midcarders" or "untested" talents than the current version of the belt. Much like the Big Gold Belt/World Title, WWE might see the more "prestigious" belt design as an easy (lazy) means to get new stars over.
