Watching Raw tonight, has made me realise how boring they are. Every single one of them has the same structure:
-Face has early momentum -Heel achieve upperhand by dastardly cheating -Face dominated until hot tag -Back and forth until pin

There was that time Big Show KOed Shad immediately after he got the hot tag. That was awesome.

Yeah, I've gotta admit I hate how predictable they are. I especially hate the hot tag. Especially when Kofi gets it because he has annoying hot tag offence and usually does an annoying stomping around the ring at a fast speed thing when he clears house or before/after his leaping corner punches.

You must have missed the edge/Rey vs angle/Krispen great tag matches then if you find tag matches are boring.

I actually enjoy most if not every damn one of The Shield featured 6-man tag matches. That's the one area WWE has been killing it lately, especially when you remember back in the day every other RAW main event was some lame shoehorned 6-man tag with the WWE/WHC/IC Champ feuds rivalry's all Teddy-Longed into a forced partnership between heels and faces.

Yeah, the 6 man tag is the new tag match.
They should have just converted the Tag Team Belts into the SIX MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS....or something like that. Trios Belt?
That would have made much more sense for the Shield.

Yeah it seems like the six-man tag has taken over, even in NXT six-man tags often end the show so it's almost as if they're being trained for WWE's preferred new format. Plus most stables are made up of three people these days.

When's the last time there's been a tornado tag match? Back when The Shield beat Team Hell No for them at Extreme Rules

I always enjoy the cheating that occurs in tag matches. You are right about the formula every match follows. I don't like it when a guy gets pummeled for 5 minutes, makes the hot tag,and then gets tagged back in 20 seconds later no worse for the wear.

You can blame Ricky Morton for this stuff. There's nothing more tired and formulaic than people still working a Rock N Roll Express style tag match in the year 2013. The problem is that WWE thinks this is the ONLY story one can tell in a tag match. The irony is that WWE has even lessened certain aspects of the formula. I haven't seen the "ref distraction, misses the tag" spot lately. How about a tag match where the faces do all sorts of cool stuff that throws the heels off their game?
The odd thing is that WWE has become obsessed with using old NWA style tag booking, yet the company's own 80s/90s tag matches didn't always follow such booking. Look at the Bulldogs/Dream Team match from WM 2. It doesn't really follow that "face in peril" formula at all. Guys wrestle, there aren't really many double team spots, if you get tired tag out, etc. Or a match like Rockers vs. Barbarian/Haku from WM 7, where the quicker Rockers tormented the bigger heels and threw them off their game.

They can be fun but if you use the same format for all the tag team matches they do get boring.
