Hey, wasn't Kaitlyn supposed to turn heel on AJ and join the Divas of Doom purple monkey dishwasher?

....I shit you not, I was going to reply with a reference to Kaitlyn joining the LWO. What a strange coincidence. To be fair, does anyone really need a reason to bring up the LWO? It's like the worst faction ever, but you can't bring yourself to hate it because you like at least 60% of the people involved and the concept is sound. L-Dubya-O! L-Dubya-O! They had a good theme song.

They hinted at a Drew McIntyre face turn when he was in love with Kelly Kelly.

I hear Kaitlyn turned heel on the rumors of her heel turn. I hear Kaitlyn turned heel and broke her ankle. I hear Kaitlyn turned heel to fetch a pail of water. I hear Kaitlyn turned heel on Achilles and he was never the same again. Did I kill the joke now? Good.

They hinted at a Drew McIntyre face turn when he was in love with Kelly Kelly. I remember that angle and totally siding with Drew. He was trying to be a good guy and change for Kelly and she kept jerking him around.

They hinted at a Drew McIntyre face turn when he was in love with Kelly Kelly. He also worked face in a match against Jinder Mahal on Superstars a week before 3MB formed.

Also, it looked like Test was turning face when he was with Stacy Keibler and she was his marketing director, leading him to cut his hair and call his fans 'Testicles.' I can't remember if they ever turned him face, but I don't think they ever fully turned him babyface. I think Steiner ended up teaming with him and then they may have feuding with Steiner being the face. Yeah, this was a full-blown face turn post-UnAmericans. Test would refer to his fans as "Testicles" and, after he would win a match, take the microphone and say "I LOVE MY TESTICLES." T his was an entire months-long program that resulted in Test turning heel again when he became too controlling of Stacy and feuding with Steiner for 37 years. It ended with both turning on Stacy and then I can't remember at all how this was blown off.Point being, Test's face turns wasn't abruptly cancelled at all. What was cancelled was an angle where Raven stalking Test and Stacy that lasted all of one segment on Raw and was never mentioned again. Steiner beat Test in a match that gave him Stacy as his manager. A few months later Test beat Steiner in a rematch that meant he regained Stacy's managerial services and also Steiner (as a sort of man-servant). Steiner reluctantly teamed up with Test with Stacy either costing (or attempting to) cost them several matches. Steiner turned heel on her after she cost them a match for the Tag Titles. I think it ended when Stone Cold (who may have been GM at the time)"fired" Test and Steiner.

Did Shawn Michales fight Rice Flair? Sure, FM Punk was on commentary and guess who was the guest referee...yup, Bert Hart as always. By the way, I remember something about AJ turning on Beth Phoenix on main event or something like that.

It wasn't a turn, but in 2003 right around his face turn in November Cena FU'ed Benoit after a tag match to give him that Austin 'don't trust anybody' edge. Apparently it didn't go over the way they wanted though and they edited it out. I remember being bummed and wanting them to keep it in. Thanks for that post - that was the one I was trying to remember. I knew it was Benoit that was attacked on SmackDown! to create an Austin vibe, and that it was Michael Hayes' idea that apparently nobody liked, but I couldn't remember who the guy was. The answer, like everything in the WWE that last 10 years, was of course Cena

Didn't Hurricane have a mini heel turn when he was teaming him Rosie? I definitely remember him ripping up one of the masks they'd sell to the kiddies, but don't think anything ever came of it.

While not canceled but delayed. Christian was supposed to turn on edge right after the king of the ring in 2001, but since the invasion angle was starting up it happened like 2 months later I think.

Hey, has anyone mentioned when Kaitlyn turned heel on AJ, but it never aired on TV? This is going back decades, but I believe WWE envisioned Honky Tonk Man as a face, but audiences didn't take to him. I'm really streching to remember what happened, but I believe WWE did one of their gimmicks where they got fans to mail in 'votes' whether than fans liked him or not. Of course this may have been one of their many attempts to get addresses of their fans so that they could send them offers and marketing things ala 'Get well Matilda' and when Earthquake injured Hogan. Yeah, now that you mention it, there was a sort of voting option. I do remember after a match, Hulk Hogan (of all people) came to the ring, held up HTM's arm after the win and pointed, as if to say "I approve of this guy, so should you." Fans just booed the crap out of him. They just turned him heel instead. Just trying to figure out when he joined with Jimmy Hart.

After losing the Cruiserweight Title, Paul London started cutting promos about how he was screwed and how the fans needed to protest with him to get his title back. It was almost shades of WCW Chris Jericho (without the mic skills). It went no where and London was soon in a face tag team.

Mick Foley was supposed to turn heel on The Rock in late 99, the reason for the turn was going to be semi-shoot as Rock had not checked on Foley after their Rumble match earlier that year...but Austin got injured and it was aborted.

After JBL feuded with Batista and lost a few PPV matches, he moved on to feuding with Mysterio. After that cleared, wasn't there some period where he started teaming with faces in some 6 man tags for a few episodes? Then nothing happened and he was a heel again. you're not imagining it. it was during the Smackdown/Raw Survivor Series feud. the rest of Team Smackdown were all faces and Team Raw was all heels. JBL was the mouthpiece for team Smackdown and was getting great face pops. so they just briefly booked him like a face without officially turning him, and then he went back to feuding with Rey Mysterio when the angle was finished. I like to think that was the moment where fans finally won over to JBL's side and saw how great he actually was.

Eugene, during the "I'M SPECIAL!" gimmick. He turned on Hacksaw Jim Duggan after they lost to the Spirit Squad and had to break up. I think Ryder was supposed to turn heel on Cena during the Kane feud, but Eve got so much heat from kissing him that they turned her instead. I wish they turned Zack instead. Maybe things would be different. bitter, friend-zoned "Nice guy" Zack Ryder would've been a great gimmick. too bad WWE's about 5 years behind the times.
