I have to say they were hilarious. As was JBL trying to heel it up by saying they were chanting "Randy Orton". Then about 3 seconds later they started chanting for JBL himself.

They are right. He is boring. Always has been.
With the brief exception when he was doing the RNN reports. We never saw that guy again

These sort of chants are obviously harsh on the guy in the ring, but when WWE continue to push the same dull guys again and again then I fully support the fans making their feelings known.

Randy is a hell of a wrestler, but has never exhibited anything that I would consider worthy of 10+ title reigns given his "character".

Lawler heard em just fine Lawler mentioning it was quite funny because he said it in a manner that was like he wasn't sure whether he should actually say it or not. "I think they're saying Randy's...boring *nervous laughter*"

I love it when fans tell WWE something isn't working. even if it doesn't work (and usually it doesn't) it's good to know the fans aren't just robots who'll accept whatever shit you shovel in their face. and as a fan of Orton, he has been INCREDIBLY boring ever since his heel turn. him feuding with freaking Big Show doesn't make it any more interesting either.

He was being INCREDIBLY boring in the match, like so much he was obviously doing it purposefully.
He always does this when he's a heel. He tones down the mannerisms and out comes the headlock and stomps.

When he had the match with dolph where the fans popped for everything he did last week against ziggler Orton is hugely over in certain places

It's Orton. Dude never wrestles with urgency and he only ups it when he's a heel.

Orton's the best wrestler on the roster, he really is. His job is to get people to hate him. He works as a heel which is so refreshing this day and age of 'crap that randomly happens before the finish' we get today. Orton is old school.

Orton's the best wrestler on the roster How can you say this with a straight face? Well because I'm counting as what it means to be a top wrestler as someone who has the crowd in the palm of his hands. I understand the usual interpretation is someone who can do lots of moves, nearly all of which are inconsequential to everything - but my own differs. If you work a crowd you're a better wrestler than someone who can't, even if your move repertoire isn't as large. The best actor is the one with the most engaging performance not the longer list of credits listed on imdb

No duh Orton isn't that exciting in the ring. He's a heel. Heels don't do fancy ish to pop a crowd.

The problem is people don't know how to work these days. They know just one style whether they're the heel or a face they wrestle one style. The best worker, of all time, as probably Randy Savage but he'd work differently as a face than as a heel. As a heel he'd be slower, methodical and antagonistic towards the crowd. Orton lacks the ability to work as a face successfully but as a heel there have been few better in the modern era.
But it's sad that it's almost wasted on an audience that seemingly just wants a cluster of hight spots and then the bell. Some of the best workers in the industry if around today would be called "boring" on the basis they weren't flying around everywhere. Jake Roberts being one. People often refer to him as a leading light of in ring psychology but today he'd be called boring on the basis he doesn't do a flying head scissors.

I think Orton does play off this perception quite a bit for heat. He knows his reputation, but why change it when you can get more heat than anybody on the roster just by slapping on a chinlock?
If anything, he needs to make it more blatant. He should go up top for what appears to be a high risk move, only to step off at the last second and slap on a headlock.

By the same token, shouldn't heel Del Rio get credit?
