Fulton looks like he is starting to dress up for the role of Pitch in "Santa Claus." And it seems someone finally realized Vince Russo's dream as expressed 15 years ago.

What a bunch of delusional f***s. I'm want to know how they did a battle royale with no ring and just the small red mat. You're eliminated when both feet touch the floor. Everyone is eliminated. I'd imagine the best strategy would be to maneuver yourself to the middle of the mat and then just start shovin'. And the hits keep on coming: Nice to see the Vince Russo "Everyone hates it, but atleast everyone is talking about how they hate it!" school of thought is still alive and well!

The most shocking thing about all this?
I can't believe that's what Bobby freakin' Fulton looks like now! He was an 80s teen heartthrob!

I watched the Chair Shot Reality last week where Greg told the story of this "promoter" trying to book him. LaBar & Co, kept referring to it as a "Horror Story."
I was like Greg rejected the lame ass offer, so how is this a "Horror Story?"
Then, I saw the pics...

Probably not the worst show ever and probably not the worst to come.
Volkoff responded via facebook:
"Please forward to all newsletters or wrestling websites from me:
I want to address what seems many are talking about in regards to a show I worked in Ohio over the weekend where there was no ring. I as you know am strictly a performer. I try to be a man of my word and if a promoter books me and pays me what we agree upon I have no problem working on a mat rather than a ring. It does not matter if 10 people show up or 93,000 plus I have a commitment to my fans and the promoter to give them what they want. I wrestle for fun, to stay in shape, and make a few bucks in the process. Everything that I own and have is because of the great fans of wrestling that allowed me to live the American dream. It was a fun match on Saturday. I would have done it all over again as long I can make you all smile. As a man that escaped a tough government and came here with $50 in 1968, I sure am smiling and that's due to all of you. God bless, Nikolai"

Controversy creates cash. The guy seems kind of screwy, but they should leave him be. He obviously exaggerated the numbers, but it doesn't seem like he took advantage of anybody or anything. If he likes what he is doing, good for him.

I don't have a schtick. I'm not sure what you're referring to with your bottom statement but I don't see the huge deal here. The guy had an issue with the ring and did the best he could with the materials available. As ludicrous as his back-up plan was, playing it off as some huge success and comparing it to the plight of Biblical Israelites and arguing with everyone in sight when called out on what a shambles it actually was became the issue. Wrestling is built on hyperbole, but the promotor made a sad situation even worse by insulting the intelligence of anybody watching. Gregory Iron mentioned it as a conclusion to a funny story he told on a web show last week, and was content to leave it at that until the promoter started claiming he didn't know who Iron and Gowan are and that they'd never contacted them. Well it wasn't a success but was it really in shambles as much as everyone says? The ring didn't turn up so he went to his next option. Cancelling the show would of been worse.

Two senior citizens attempting to have a match on a single gym mat with an untrained referee pulled from the 20 people in the crowd isn't a shambles to you? Cancelling would have been worse, I agree, but changing to a meet and greet, have Nikolai and Fulton tell old ring war stories, and set up an angle for next month's show, comping those who had turned up would have been a better option. Damage limitation over making themselves a laughing stock. How many good independent talents are going to queue up to do business with them? They'll get the broken down old guys who can't afford to be picky, but beyond that? It's going to take them a good while to shake the reputation they've earned.
