Of course, this is Bryan and Punk's fault. On a more serious note though, I think this has more to do with fans knowing how inconsistent, predictable, and boring the product overall. Perhaps if the product was more coherent, exciting, unique, and the focus was on great storytelling rather than trying to present it as a film production, then we'd probably be seeing different results in terms of buyrates, ratings, and even audience attendance.

Wait a minute, the audience are unenthused about seeing a title match between two guys who have been in and around the World title scene week in and week out for the best part of 8 years....I don't believe it!

I, for one, think they should make it a bit more appealing to adults. Because on a Monday night show scheduled between 8 and 11, that's going to be your demographic, not kids.

If you were watching a "sport" wherein you, the audience, knew ahead of time that the only interesting developments would happen at the top of the hour every week, how many would sit through the entire 3 hour broadcast? That's WWE's problem. The viewers have discovered their formula, and only peak at 8, 9, 10, and quarter to 11-11:15. They desperately need to mix it up.
