Hmm, I hope this is available for people not in the US n'all.
I don't have the knowledge or experience to know if there are any problems with subscriptions like this outside of the native country so here's hoping.
And not just a streaming. If it's a PPV/TV show on demand service it'd be brilliant.

Part of this sounds a little off. There is no way that WrestleMania and the PPVs are going to be live and included. No one would buy the PPVs, and it's unlikely that enough extra people would join the network to make up for the loss in PPV revenues at, essentially, $10 a pop. It seems like that would give the rest of the on demand library away for free. That's not to mention the loss in DVD sales. Also, would they give so much more than they did with Classics on Demand for just $2 more? I would see it being like a more expansive version of Classics on Demand. You would have access to a certain time period of RAW, Smackdown, Nitro, Thunder, and PPVs per month. Like maybe a certain month and year and all PPVs from that month to the present. Then, you would get a PPV that was maybe 4-6 months old each month. No way they're ready to give up their guaranteed PPV revenue which is anywhere from 3-5x that monthly subscription alone. Then it could impact DVD sales of those PPVs or future RAW retrospectives? And no real ad revenue, or at least not comparable to cable? Something is too good to be true here. However, I hope I am dead wrong. They're already losing the PPV audience with the amount of streaming and disinterest anyways. With this system, it's a reasonable sum for consumers and WWE is guaranteed to get a sum out of enough people with a package deal, instead of selling the same audience to buy a different PPV every month, because let's be honest...most people aren't going to do that because the product isn't that good, the economy sucks ass, and the availability to watch for free is going to prevent sales. I'd also like to add that a lot of people who would otherwise not have time to watch the PPV live would like this service if the PPV was available to them afterwards. Since this is a service that is paid in advance, it saves WWE the time of trying to appeal to it's fans to buy the replay. Honestly, I don't know who in their right mind would purchase a replay of a PPV after the results are posted. With a web subscription? Certainly. Oh and let's not forget that most people who would have this service wouldn't always watch every PPV, yet WWE is still getting their money. Again...smart thinking on their end, and I'm being serious. If I was WWE, I'd maybe raise the price slightly, although I do think they eventually will go to at least $15 or $20...which still isn't outrageous, but if you can get even 1/6th of your audience to go along with this...you'd make some pretty good cash. I'd say this is the smart plan. Yes, it's definitely not what they would have wanted, especially if they could get the providers to saddle up alongside them therefore not needing to ask the fans individually to go with this service. But at the same time, we've seen what Netflix can accomplish and since WWE already is the Monopoly that it is, it can freely offer so many services through their own package without the need to continously put out a bunch of silly original programming to fill time. You can still produce that, but it's something that is offered, not programmed for you to HAVE to watch. What I mean is, a WWE channel that is giving me "original non-wrestling programming featuring wrestlers" as part of their daily line up as opposed to say putting it online where I have a choice to watch that or old Smackdown reruns...the choice is obvious.

I wouldn't be shocked if WWE announced sometime that the WWE Network has already been out; it's the WWE Youtube channel! "THE WORDS NETWORK AND CHANNEL ARE THE SAME THING. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT FANS FOR EXPECTING SOMETHING DIFFERENT, GIVE US MONEY"

Bummer,I'd rather it be a cable channel than a streaming service.

I'm sold if this is the case. That seriously sounds fantastic but one question from that first statement. It said "24/7 streaming plus on demand" so does that mean that they'll constantly have programming running but you can choose to watch something different? Just an aside, but I hope that they continue having Renee Young host old episodes of Raw on the Network, she's great in the role on Classics on Demand.

I hope it works out for them but this is going to bomb embarrassingly hard.
They're counting on like half the people that watch RAW to pay to stream something. It isn't going to happen. No matter how good a deal it is (and it is a great deal).

$60 up front to start? That screams bush league money grab, even if you get WMXXX, which, guaranteed, you aren't going to be watching online.
The only way they can make this work is if they offer it as an XBox/PS4/Roku app.

If it's available and in a medium I can get in Canada, I will get this. I won't watch much past 2002 or so, but I will be getting it.

Well, this will he less of a money pit than a full TV channel simply because it's cheaper to run, but with that said, if they don't put something like a 6 month delay on PPV's and RAWs, this is going to eat into profits from the rest of their business and be just as harmful. Lets see, buy two major PPVs, or, buy a subscription and get those PPVs, plus the rest of the PPVs and WWE archive shows for similar money.
The WWE may be banking on their product being compelling enough that it has to be seen on the day of broadcast... I think they're in for a bit of a shock on that front.

WWE Network as an online streaming service would actually be better for me.
My shitty cable company never even had WWE Classics on Demand (or any "On Demand" content period).
So I'm guessing it would've been years before they carried the WWE Network, if ever.

A smarter move than an actual channel which was guaranteed to bomb.
This still sounds like a risk on their part, but much less of one. I'm more interested than I would have been otherwise, particularly as I cut off cable months ago.

That's a good deal 6 months for $60 is cheaper than WrestleMania itself. Agreed, $60 upfront and only $10, just think by the time the next mania rolls around you would only have spent $180! pass.

So wait, I get WrestleMania by buying it, but can I watch that WrestleMania on my tv?

I'd be down if I could get a guarantee that the past Raw/SD/PPV offerings wouldn't be neutered like they have been recently.

This is better IMO
This removed the limitation of being USA only out the gate.
Assuming they support a worldwide launch. Which they need to.

Add me to the list of people who supports this decision. Trying to launch a cable channel at a time when cable is dying in general was a bad idea. I don't know how MLB.tv does it, so I'm just imagining the wrestling version of Netflix. Which, coupled with the PPVs, is totally worth an initial $60 investment. The wording interests me though. Every Raw, SmackDown, and PPV to date? I take that to mean they'll add WCW, ECW, etc. near the end of the 6 month trial (along with the WrestleMania show subscribers will probably receive delayed, which I'm fine with) to try to get us to stick around. There's definitely going to be a catch somewhere, but on paper it sounds great. I hope it does launch in February. I know what I'll ask for for my birthday.

I really hope there's a PS3/PS4 app like Netflix to access the Network if it's online only.
