I've never liked Ambrose, and I didn't like The Dark Knight either. I'm not closed to any chance of him impressing me. I just don't see it happening. Agreed on both counts, and I couldn't have said it any better. If he'd drop the lame-o "Ledger Joker" schtick (going into 2014, no less), I might give him a shot, but he's not doing anything with his "psycho" gimmick that a plethora of guys haven't done before and much, MUCH better. Savage, Pillman, or Foley he is not. He was hyped to the moon, but he seems pretty average, to me. Rollins, on the other hand, always impresses me.

I was right about Cody and Ted in legacy and I'll be right about this. Roman will flop by himself, Seth will do just fine.

To me it seems that being a part of the Shield has been a huge benefit to Rollins and Reigns since they were both lacking in key areas (Rollins with the mic work, Reigns with the ring work).
However, with Ambrose, who was already strong in the key areas, I feel has been limited by being in the Shield. I think Ambrose's skills will shine through a lot more once they split and he can have a strong singles run.

Goldberg and the Ultimate Warrior would like to have a word with you. Completely different era. It's so much harder to get over on an aura these days than ever before. I think it's more that we just haven't had people with much presence lately, rather than that it's harder for it to work. Probably the most recent which was successful was Batista. Sure he started doing some good mic stuff late in his run as a heel, but early in his push he didn't really talk much (and when he did it was very basic) nor was he of any interest in the ring. CM Punk could probably fit in here too, but since he's good on the mic and in the ring, people don't really consider him that light. You can't underestimate when people just WANT to like a guy though. It trumps just about everything.

I dont get these opinions. The dude has all the goods and IMO is the most intriguing guy in the entire business. There's so many directions he can go. He reminds me of a young Piper in every respect.

I will say this currently.
I think that if the Shield does break up, which they really have to at some point, Ambrose does has a shot at really shining. I think a lot of these theories that he's being limited by being in a group hold some water. I rewatched a lot his stuff in FCW and beyond, and the dude can definitely go on the stick and seems to be fairly decent in the ring. Maybe then I can really appreciate him like a lot of others do.
But for now, he's just "a guy in the Shield" to me.
