Wow if he truly had a concussion, props to Bryan for finishing his match and angle like a champ last night.

Somewhere, Batista is getting ready for his big Mania main event payday... Eh, he was already doing that anyways. Big Dave is no dummy, he doesn't work for cheap.

Does anyone know specifically when the concussion happened?
Its either scary how many concussions have happened recently or how many went undiagnosed during the attitude era.

It's probably a little of both, but it likely wasn't as bad back then, since there was a lot less of an emphasis on wrestling. You didn't really get twenty minute matches on Raw every week like you do now, and the main event matches rather than being dynamic and high-flying like they often are now were generally wild brawls.

I've never liked flying headbutts anyway. They just look like one of those moves that hurt you just as much, if not worse. It's not like he'll have a shortage of moves if he drops it. Flying headbutts are one of the most "oh, you could tell he didn't even touch him" moves in wrestling despite being one of the most dangerous. I have no idea why anyone would want to use one.

Tells how much of a professional Bryan is if he is able to remember all his spots and interact with the crowd while being concussed. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

There was more of an emphasis on smashing chairs and objects on heads though, which does worry me a lot and makes me suspicious of misdisgnosis. Or no diagnosis. That "go out and perform" attitude over everything has always been very, very strong in pro wrestling and head damage never got factored to a greater degree. Until recently, thank God (and Nowinski!)

I'd say that it was likely worse back then just due to the need to be a tough guy and not look weak. It seems like someone was getting drilled with a chair in every big match as well.

On some thinking on it, if the plan is for Bryan to win the Rumble but he's unable to compete, I can think of two good ways to handle it that'd both kind of end up in the same place. First one - think I mentioned it earlier, but show Bryan choosing his number and getting a late one only for him to get attacked offscreen by the Wyatt Family. Bray enters the Rumble early, is in for a long time, and is eventually eliminated, then he comes back in in Bryan's spot and wins it. Cue the board or Vince or something declaring Bryan gets a shot at Elimination Chamber to earn the title shot. Second - Bryan is number thirty, but isn't out yet and it's down to Punk and Bray. The two simultaneously eliminate each other, then Bryan comes out and is declared the winner. In response to this Triple H makes it so that Bryan has to defend the title shot against Bray at Elimination Chamber, and when Punk doesn't get the same it furthers him being pissed at Triple H and wanting his head. I like the 1st scenario. The 2nd wouldn't be good for his character and would make it look like he hasn't earnt it.

We got any more updates on this yet? Still finding it pretty suspect how there's been nothing from WWE about this, given how informative they've been recently when this happened to AJ, Del Rio and Ziggler.

Could mean it's nothing, or could mean they have some plans for him they're now trying to scramble to cover before officially announcing he's out. We'll see I guess.

If they know he's going to miss the Rumble, and they know there are folks who will order the PPV thinking Bryan's a favorite to win, I have full confidence they'll keep mum so they can pull some kind of bait-and-switch, like having Bryan's music play and then Bray Wyatt comes out in his place and we find out the Wyatt Family took out Bryan backstage off-camera even though he was never actually at the arena at all.

He could easily win the rumble concussed if they REALLY want him to.... Enter at number 30 when everyone has eliminated themselves?!?!?!

Hopefully its a mild concussion, which could be why they haven't announced anything yet. I imagine if Bryan had to miss a significant amount of time they'd announce it. At least if Bryan is supposed to win the Rumble but can't, they can still have him win the Elimination Chamber.
But I really hope he can recover fully in time for the Rumble.

I really hope he recovers in general. Concussions are no joke. Dude needs to take his time if he needs to. The last thing we need is another Bret Hart

Final 3, Punk, Bryan and Bray. Simple as that. That place is going to be rocking if these are the final three. I would love if Bryan and Punk are the last two remaining.
