They were just daring people to ask for refunds.

I feel like WWE are going to turn it into an on-screen storyline for a bit and that may be why WWE haven't reported it. Say that Daniel Bryan has a concussion and can't compete in the Royal Rumble due to Doctors orders and have him get a tip off, potentially on the back of a funeral parlour business card if Kane really is helping Bryan that The Authority threatened the Doctor into mis-diagnosing Bryan. He goes and get's a second opinion, drags the ref out onto the entrance ramp to announce that Bryan is healthy enough to compete.

Or they could do what they did with Shawn and have Bryan continue to wrestle only to collapse and pass out mid-match.

Has Dave Meltzer ever been wrong when he's said something is confirmed? He's usually very accurate when saying that kind of stuff and it looks like he's right here too.

Maybe WWE is faking the concussion as an excuse to not put DBry in the Rumble, or over at Mania. This is punishment for getting so over on Monday, and forcing them to change plans for the Wyatt angle in the first place. It's a CON-spiracy.*
*Yes, of course I'm kidding.

If he can't wrestle at Smackdown next week I hope he is replaced with someone better than Big Show,or else I may have to burn the arena down.

Perhaps they're resting him, and he will show up on Raw in some non-wrestling capacity to probably cut a promo about the Royal Rumble.

I'm guessing they'll play it by ear with Bryan, try to get him cleared for the Rumble. If they can't, they'll do a segment where Bryan is found unconscious backstage at the hands of the Wyatt Family and he does a stretcher job. Returns sometime in February probably, maybe a match against Bray at Elimination Chamber to end the feud.

I have no idea whether or not the injury is legit, but I also think either way, they're giving Bryan a little break before the big Mania push. Honestly, I'm thinking that the reason they are keeping it under wraps is because they are hoping for another Cena at MSG-like surprise with the Rumble. Like he won't be "officially cleared to compete" until his music hits at the Rumble.
If he was still involved with the Authority, my fantasy booking would be that Triple H and Stephanie would not allow Bryan to enter the Rumble in order to "protect Bryan." They could use "their doctors" and withhold his test results to prevent him from being cleared for competition until Vince steps in and overrules Triple H and Stephanie, allowing Bryan to enter the Rumble late in the game. That would provide the Vince vs Triple H storyline NEWZ was speaking about toward the end of last year and could become Bryan as Vince's chosen guy against Brock as Hunter's chosen champ at Mania.

Off-topic: how does WWE go about offering refunds like this? Does Justin Roberts come out and say "sorry fans Daniel Bryan will not be here so refunds are available"
On-topic: concussion or no, I highly doubt they would keep him off Raw. A live via satellite appearance at the very least.

The ring announcer will state that someone won't be there as advertised, what is taking their place and you have until the end of the second match or so to go to the box office and get a refund before leaving.

Dang, I was partially joking when I said it like that and expected it to be on a sign or in the program or something. It's pretty big of them to even offer to begin with.
