Beating someone well past their prime is not a good thing. Except this is the Undertaker we are talking about. This is a guy that died three times and yet still walks the land. A guy that can conjure lighting bolts to strike at whatever he wishes. It's not a normal man people are stepping into the ring with, it's a paranormal being. yeah funny though how he only uses lightning bots during his entrance and never decide that punching someone is too much bother and smite them in the ring.

Also why is the Undertaker called the dead man, Undertakers are not dead, they handle the dead. It is like saying a Policeman is a criminal because he arrests people. Or a chef is food.

Considering the kinda paranormal bollocks Bearer has pulled in the past it's not a stretch to suggest that Bearer resurrected him to work as an Undertaker in his funeral parlour. I guess that would make Bearer a Necromancer huh....... that's pretty f***ing cool.

To me, "undefeated guy finally loses" is a better story and talking point than "undefeated guy never loses".

On my way out the door, I'd put over a ham sandwich if they wanted me to as long as they paid me enough.

I'd keep it intact mainly because it's for the fans at this point.

My belief is that the Streak should end, as another poster said; it's the natural ending to a story where the guy hasn't lost. The downside to that is the Streak's ending and who does it will come down to the timing of it. As Taker seems to want to go until he can't go anymore it will be most likely the guy who fits the mould best that year.
It reminds me of the Undisputed Title story in 2001. If you'd have picked anybody to be Undisputed Champion for the first time you'd pick Austin or Rock due to them both holding iconic status at that stage in both their careers, Jericho had a legendary career but he's not a Hogan, Austin or Rock. However, as they decided to do it at that point in time and the stories were building to a Jericho win, that was the result. The storyline payoff didn't fit the size of the story. I fear this is what will happen with The Streak, they'll pick the best guy at the time but not necessarily the best guy overall.
They need to have a plan and build towards it so that it's worth it. I honestly believed that they were in the process of building towards the end with the HBK/HHH matches; I thought after HHH's second year trying he'd reveal that he'd brought back Brock Lesnar as the man to break the streak. Brock would be HHH's charge and HBK could side with Taker (but maybe turn at Mania). That would have given us a big ending to the Streak with a 5 year long sequence of Mania matches all leading to the end of Undertakers career at the hands of a guy who's had Takers number before and could dominate on top for years.
