Plus his comments of being a Devil for life no matter what. He should retire because I doubt any good team would sign him to be their starting goaltender. Hell I doubt a Vancouver would even sign him the closest of being a team with recent regular season success.

So there are some teams who'd take him for that. Maple Leafs would probably like him to help their young starter along. Maybe Tampa if they settle on their start(please be Bishop). |

The problem with Brodeur staying on the Devils is that he wants at least 30 starts, which is crazy considering how good Cory is. The only thing Marty had on him last year was wins because the Devils scored goals with him in net.
I think we'd be ok with one of our AHL goalies as backup. But I'd much prefer Brodeur to either re-sign with the Devils and accept his role as a true backup or retire than go out a backup on some other team. But if he expects to play 30 games and the Devils are ok with that, then they have a greater risk of losing Schneider to free agency.
