I would also consider maybe Johnny Rotten in there too...this is really tricky to just have one more space...

By record sales the top ten are: The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston & Celine Dion in that order.

If I was picking, it'd be Alice Cooper.
But if I had to be objective, I'd go with Bob Dylan or Chuck Berry.

Just my opinion but there should never be a monument built to a man who has had a child's description of his penis entered as evidence in court. Just a couple of points, don't want this to turn into a rule breaking thing but. 1. The time he was tried, he was found not guilty. 2. If we're going to bring personal lives into it, including underage activities, there are a lot of people already mentioned who wouldn't deserve any monument, showbiz contains a lot of vile people who are great artists.

If we're going to bring personal lives into it, including underage activities, there are a lot of people already mentioned who wouldn't deserve any monument, showbiz contains a lot of vile people who are great artists. Not to take this to far off topic but I always hear this as the rebuttal and it's a different argument. The case were he was strip searched and photographed for evidence with minute intimate personal details of his physique matching the child's description was settled out of court. That's not a jury finding of not guilty. All we know from that case was that the evidence was entered into court and it matched the child's description and the defence said it did not and some jurors said it did not. But like I said it is just my opinion, his career certainly could justify it, although not as cut and dry as some people think. If we had a monument built to the greatest technical wrestlers of the last 20 years I'd feel uncomfortable having Benoit on there though his career only justifies it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson#1993.E2.80.9394:_First_child_sexual_abuse_allegations_and_first_marriage

It's cool, I totally get it.
My thing is bringing personal lives into it makes everything muddy. Some of the people listed here, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Jimmy Page, John Lennon etc.
Basically too long to list, but many do awful things, but the music is still what people think of.
