I thought that was awesome. Austin did a superb job of asking tough questions, but still letting Vince get his word in. As far as criticism about not asking the SUPER tough questions, those people wouldn't be happy unless Vince said "I saw Savage rape teenage Stephanie so that's why I pushed Owen off the rafters and forced Benoit to take Steroids and use the flying headbutt as a finish. I also would've gotten CM Punk killed with a staph infection too if it wasn't for you damn internet kids!!!" You forgot to have him say something incriminating about HHH, too. And don't forget being gay for HBK

Did anyone else notice that Vince looked like he wanted anything other than people tweeting 'him' their opinions?

Yeah I just have to appreciate the tough questions Steve did ask and understand that Steve isn't going to shame Vince and try and get him to get his act together for an hour. WWE, now, just is what it is and this interview at least helped me to come to terms with the idea that it's unlikely that the ship is ever gonna get back on course. I would love to know what conversations among talent are being had now that they're aware their boss thinks they all lack ambition.

Haven't read through the entire thread, but did anyone else catch a sly (probably unintentional) disrespecting of Triple H when Vince answered that there was no one in today's WWE like Jim Ross who had his ability to communicate directly with talent.... IF I'm not mistaken the job that JR had has not been eliminated and is currently being held by the aforementioned Mr. Haitch....so by all means there SHOULD be someone with said skills utilizing them in the same capacity that JR did. Unless Vince thinks that talent communication is actually a flaw, which there seems to be some underlying evidence pointing toward.

Of course. Ever since this whole thing started, people were hoping maybe this is what finally shuts down Vince for good. I'm not surprised they feel like Austin didn't do his part to the fullest, if that's what they're really hoping for. I don't understand that kind of mentality. Why would anyone who is a wrestling fan want Vince shut down? Also why would anyone think Austin himself would put Vince in a spot where he really could say something that would get him shut down? -People hate Vince -People hate HHH -People hate Corporations. -People would prefer for the indies to keep their big names. That's pretty much why they'd want WWE shut down.

Austin is one of the only people that could do this and Vince wouldn't get completely pissed. I say Austin, Rock, Hogan, HBK, Triple H, you have to be one of those wrestlers to ask these types of questions and not have the boss upset with you. Austin knew that and he went in. He also advertised his podcast well. Now because of this he's going to get more viewers as he should.

If Vince and Austin talked about the weather for 45 minutes, I'd still watch that and be enthralled. There's an incredible chemistry and respect with those two.

Though I get the feeling he's not exactly cut out to do it.

It's been a shady thing since it started both on an off screen. I can't comment on the corporations thing with board rules although I'll say I get that too. The indies thing well I guess nobody has to sign that doesn't want to or doesn't need to if it were me I would want to make it to the biggest spot I could and that is WWE. Maybe it's me but the WWE has entertained me for 20 years and I hope to see it keep doing well with some changes. Not picking on you thanks for answering just my opinion.

Did anyone else notice that Vince looked like he wanted anything other than people tweeting 'him' their opinions? Vince honestly looked like he crapped himself at the fear that he would have to anwser questions right there from people tweeting them in.

I see that a few people on Twitter are really pissing and moaning about the stuff that wasn't mentioned. I mean, did people really expect Austin to ask about Owen or Benoit? Of course. Ever since this whole thing started, people were hoping maybe this is what finally shuts down Vince for good. I'm not surprised they feel like Austin didn't do his part to the fullest, if that's what they're really hoping for. No, people want change. They want guys to be safer and for the roster to be more free flowing and fresh.

Which makes sense, though a lot of those people don't get that without WWE or something of comparable size, fewer people would even get involved with wrestling or stay involved long enough to become great, since it'd be like trying to be awesome at basketball in a world with no NBA. Sure, you're good, but you're never going to make substantial money doing it. Without promises of exposure for WWE to sign the lucky few, indies as a whole would see diminishes in people who wanted training, etc, and that's not good for anybody. (Not directed at you, just a general argument on this)

"I'm not out of touch, some people say I'm out of touch but they're just critics." Solid deflection. I would love a "director's commentary" version of tonight's Raw with Vince explaining the decisions behind that show and try not to sound out of touch. I love Vince's logic, too. "Critics say I'm out of touch but I'm not out of touch because I SAY I'M NOT OUT OF TOUCH!!!!" Vince would totally be able to say "the pen is red" with ZERO problem.

That thing got split into 3 or 4 other jobs and had more stuff crammed under it. If you want title for title Hunter does have JR's old job title as a part of his current though.
