The road rage show for this week is pretty good. Though I wish they'd start being a little better at booking the TV title matches, Roderick is a good contender, he's won a few matches lately, but they don't really explain why Roddy is challenging for it and it just ends up feeling thrown together. Much like the ACH/Matt Sydal/Lethal triple threat a few weeks back. There was zero explanation for the triple threat, for Roddy you can kind of figure it out on your own.

Especially when throughout both shows they still hyped Jay Lethal vs. Del Rio at the Anniversary show as if there was no chance Lethal could lose it before then.

Moose beating ACH is...yeah. I mean, I like Moose and think he's gonna be a mega-star in a few years (maybe in WWE) but kinda baffling to do it at this point.

When future NFL Hall of Fame inductee, John Abraham arrived Saturday just before doors opened, I went outside to bring him in and I couldn’t believe what I saw. A line… a line of fans that stretched the length of the North Atlanta Trade Center and turned out toward the road. When all those fans jammed inside, I knew the night was going to be special. Boy was I right!

From the opening bell, the crowd was a huge part in what made the night so great. They were into every match and pushed the amazing athletes of ROH even further. I wondered if many in attendance were there to see the homecoming for Gainesville, GA native AJ Styles or former Atlanta Falcon, Moose but what I realized was the overwhelming majority were there to see Ring of Honor. It was obvious they watch ROH every week on My Network TV Saturday nights at midnight because they knew all the issues and consequences of the results.

Speaking of the results, I was shocked at the outcome of the main event but I was not shocked at the brutality displayed. I knew that both teams were going to beat the hell out of one another and as the blood poured from the gash on the top of Matt Taven’s head that required six staples to close, I felt it was a turning point for the Kingdom. Not only are Taven and Bennett brash and talented but they are tough as well.

Jay Briscoe as a gracious ambassador for ROH is as good as it gets. His heartfelt, post-event “thank you” to the fans in attendance spoke for the entire locker room.

Did bodyguard J. Diesel misspeak or did he mean to say that Jay Lethal is the greatest ROH Champion in history?

King Corino believes that Cedric Alexander is missing the aggressiveness needed to become a champion in Ring of Honor. From what I saw Saturday, it’s clear that Alexander has everything else required in abundance.

I can’t believe how far Moose has come and how quickly he has improved. ACH told Caprice Coleman, who called that match with me that he was going to show his power against Moose. ACH can’t afford to make a similar miscalculation in strategy against AJ Styles at the 13th Anniversary this Sunday.

Did I mention that the 13th Anniversary is live this Sunday on Pay-per-View and you should order now?

Here’s a shocker… Kyle O’Reilly vs Roderick Strong was an awesome wrestling match on every level and you should go out of your way to see it. Not only that, Roddy continues to impress me with his leadership in the locker room.

I had a meeting Saturday with a former WWE Superstar, introduced him to all the important players in ROH and discussed potentials for the future. We’ll see if anything comes of it but it was a productive meeting. His name is not one that was previously reported by other sites as having been in attendance.

Word is John Abraham had an awesome time on Saturday, cornering Moose in his victory over ACH. Don’t be shocked if we Abraham again soon.

I will no longer request Adam Cole to come out to commentary. It’s ludicrous on my part to expect Cole to speak, considering he’s been silent since Final Battle. But Cheeseburger helped me call the Delirious vs Matt Sydal classic and shared some great insight on his trainer from the Edge of Sanity.

I hope Stokely Hathaway learned his lesson. Don’t poke the bear.

We’ve received some odds for Sunday’s main event and you might be shocked at who is the favorite to walk out as Ring of Honor World Champion.

My pal, Alex Iz, will provide the Spanish play-by-play commentary for the 13th Anniversary and word is he will have a lovely co-host with him.

I am flattered whenever anyone compares King Corino and me to Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. They were an awesome team, the voice of a generation of fans and to be thought of in that regard is humbling. Corino and I look forward to continuing as the commentary team for ROH for a long, long time.

RING OF HONOR LAUNCHING PPV SERIES NEXT MONTH

Ring of Honor will be launching a series of one hour PPV specials titled "Creating Excellence" as of 3/1.

The first special will focus on the feud between The Young Bucks and ReDragon.

The specials will rotate over the course of March in different timeslots depending on your PPV provider and will also be available via VOD, again, depending on your provider.

Matt Taven needed six staples after the Tag team Armageddon bout in Atlanta. Expect Taven and Michael Bennett to get a big push going forward.

In honor of the ROH 13th Anniversary PPV, ROH COO Joe Koff, ROH champion Jay Briscoe, Michael Elgin, Hanson, Cedric Alexander and Tomasso Ciampa have been interviewed to discuss the PPV. We have heard nothing but raves for the Atlanta show that took place over the weekend. The final tally on that show was a little over 1,200 paid with about 1,300 in the venue.

For those asking about Samoa Joe returning here, it makes sense, but nothing is confirmed at this time. We haven't heard if the two sides have even spoken, but to call a spade a spade, ROH would be crazy not to bring him in if it's possible.

For those who have asked about the Redwood City, CA event, it is 100% sold out. It's pretty crazy that ROH added Jushin Liger AFTER the show was sold out. That's a pretty nice way to reward fans.

The next PPV after this weekend will be June from Terminal 5 in NYC.

Fair enough, you can put the pieces together as to why it's happening, Lethal has screwy wins over both guys, but I'd like a more explicit explanation that X is defending his title because of Y, and prefacing a title match with hype that the defending champion has another title match upcoming, without paying any mind to the fact that he might not even be champ by then is just bad form IMO.

Ring of Honor and Samoa Joe have been in talks for dates coming up and The LAW has been told a deal has been made between the two.

As of this writing Joe is scheduled for the next set of television tapings on March 7th in Baltimore along with March 13th in Milwaukee, March 14th in Chicago Ridge, the Supercard of Honor card on March 27th over WrestleMania weekend as well as the April 4th television tapings in San Antonio and April 25th live event in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Joe is one of the biggest stars to ever come through Ring of Honor and put the ROH title on the map at the time with his reign from March 22nd 2004 until December 26th 2004 and having some of the best matches in the world. Joe would later go on to have the most famous match in ROH history in October of 2005 with Kenta Kobashi in New York City.

Joe was no longer able to continue taking dates for ROH in 2007 while working for TNA and finished up that year but did come back for a special appearance in 2008 and defeated Tyler Black / Seth Rollins at a ROH event in November 2008.

There were budget issues internally but through other non-exclusive talent not being available it made way for ROH to come to terms with Joe.

I haven't been this stoked about Samoa Joe in a long ass while. I want him to have the career resurgence like AJ Styles (minus the neck breaking while being a dick about it). Going back to where he rose to stardom is a great first step. I see him facing Ciampa, Strong, and possibly Daniels in his first 3 matches.

I know he's lower on the totem pole than Ciampa and the like, and I know he's still injured, but I would love to see Joe eventually have a match with Ray Rowe. Their match in IWC eight years ago was really great. I'd be interested to see what they could do now.

Rowe just worked in AIW last week so he should be cleared to work in ROH. I wouldn't toss him to Joe right off the bat because he needs to be rebuilt.
