Zwan are pretty much destined to be that thing Billy Corgan did between disbanding and reforming the Smashing Pumpkins. That saddens me. 'Honestly' is a great song

I think Shudder to Think is one of the most unknown and unappreciated bands ever. Craig Wedren has a remarkable voice in which he can hit the most stunning falsetto notes. Their stuff is ultra-catchy and guitar-driven, but unfortunately they seemed to get lost in the 90s alt-rock shuffle, despite being one of the most talented products of the era.
Another great and underappreciated band is Ours. Their song 'Sometimes' is a masterpiece, and Jimmy Gnecco is probably the closest we'll ever get to having Jeff Buckley back on Earth.

Acid Bath
Only ever had 2 albums but both were fantastic
Dax Riggs is also a very underrated vocalist, can do regular vocals and screechy ones, I always like that in a vocalist.

I'm not sure how things are in the UK, but in the US, I don't think Oasis gets anywhere near as much love as they should. They totally broke the mold from grunge while still making great rock, alternative sounding music. The fact that they (or at least one of them...Liam?) were tools who insulted the US audience as a whole didn't help anything. Probably Liam. Noel is pretty cool.

Nine Inch Nails and just about every other major alternative act from the 90s. All you hear on the radio, nowadays, is Closer, and there is so much more weight and good hits from Trent's catalog.

I've only listened to like 3 or 4 of their songs before randomly putting on 'The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society' last week. I'm astounded at how little-known this album (and The Kinks) has become. I'd put it right up there among the greatest classic rock albums of all time

I've heard people accuse members of Oasis of making snobbish comments toward Americans, but I've never actually read or heard such comments. Is there any substance to the accusations, or were they one of many examples of Americans spreading lies about artists they disliked in attempts to discredit them, limit their exposure, or turn proud Americans off to them? The religious right spread lies about Marilyn Manson sacrificing animals on stage and orchestrating rape at his concerts in attempts to scare people from giving his music consideration and to have his performances banned by city officials.

I think this kind of opinion stems from the band's attitude and that by Noel Gallagher's admission, they got off on the wrong foot with US audiences from the start. Their attitude was one of huge self-belief that can be construed as arrogance. Had they "played the game" a little more, maybe they'd have "cracked" America. Plus, more than once, a US tour went wrong due to one of them walking off. Like the 1996 tour where Liam missed the first few gigs because at the last minute he decided to buy a flat. The fact that they (or at least one of them...Liam?) were tools who insulted the US audience as a whole didn't help anything. Probably Liam. Noel is pretty cool. Yeah, Liam continues to be a tool. Noel, as far as I'm concerned, is a national treasure. His commentaries for the DVD version of Oasis' "Time Flies" compilation is brilliant (Strong language, obviously):

The religious right spread lies about Marilyn Manson sacrificing animals on stage and orchestrating rape at his concerts in attempts to scare people from giving his music consideration and to have his performances banned by city officials. Here was his exact quote: Americans want grungy people, stabbing themselves in the head on stage. They get a bright bunch like us, with deodorant on, they don't get it. - Liam Gallagher Ahh, here's another gem from him that I found looking that one up: On America - "The whole nation is just a big group of people hunching over on the side of a lake, jerking each other off. I don't get it. I really don't. You guys have fun with your lake of jizz and your terrible misuse of the language we gave you."Now I do wonder why a guy like that wouldn't be so beloved here. In fairness to Liam, after doing further research I only found one site who said he said the second quote, so perhaps that one is iffy.
