You better get used to it. He's going to win the Rumble, win the title at Mania, then proceed to be heavily pushed above everyone else for the next several years or next decade.
And if the other two Shield guys don't even get at least 25% of the push that Roman eventually gets, then I'll probably be done with WWE for good because they're the only reason I give a damn and can't possibly see anyone else on the radar that will divert my attention in the hopes that WWE does something with them.

Heh, not even the Superstar Of The Year in his own former group...
Man, they have no idea how to not get people to hate a guy they really don't want to push, do they?

Heh, not even the Superstar Of The Year in his own former group... Man, they have no idea how to not get people to hate a guy they really don't want to push, do they? The trust between the audience and the company is gone. There was an unspoken truth that if the crowd gets behind someone, WWE will push them accordingly. Time and time again this has not been the case. So when the company decides "hey lets push this guy", they've got a hard road to climb. They're not listneing to the fans, and the fans are gagging on their forced pushes. Enjoy being New Sheamus, Roman.

A year ago, didn't the Internet like Reigns? I still think he would've benefited from a big heel run, followed by a push similar to Batista. Another idea: what if they turned Paul Heyman face and paired him with Roman. Maybe Heyman walks to the entrance way, does his my name is spiel, then introduces Roman. Heyman leaves as he want the attention on only Roman. I think a lot of people still like Reigns. The problem is he's getting a massive push when he's clearly not ready and we're made to think he's the best thing since sliced bread, when he hasn't developed an ability to deliver a promo and his matches are mostly one dimensional bar the huge spear or Superman punch. People (like me) were and still are excited by his potential. That's the key word. I don't think him being heel would have helped him much. He needs to develop his character more and I think he could be a great babyface if they do it right. Even when he was heel with the Shield, people wanted to like him. And absolutely not. Heyman is the classic heel mouthpiece and the closest thing to Bobby Heenan in the business. He's too good as a heel and he's not a very good face. One thing I could see happen is have Heyman turn on Brock to align with Reigns at some point and that'd be the time to push Reigns more as a tweener than a face and have Heyman do the talking. That said, Roman needs the mic time himself b/c Paul is not going to always be there for him. I personally want to see Reigns do it on his own. This award, while totally kayfabe and technically meaningless was not a good move for Reigns. He's still a year or two away from really deserving whats almost assuredly coming. Rollins and Ambrose are so far ahead of him right now its not even close.

Honestly, WWE kayfabe this year has been so poor, so fractured, I don't see a strong argument for anyone being Superstar of the Year.

John Cena was a glorified comedy jobber that got his schtick over with the fans organically and turned face. He is in his current role due to Their other options being flops. If Randy Orton wasn't shitting in bags and Lesnar never left, Cena would be the "underutilized" talent we all complain about. WWE didn't decide from day one that Cena would be their flag bearer the way they have with Reigns. And Seth would probably only fall into that role if Reigns is a flop. Cena had one of the strongest and best debuts ever and he was main eventing Smackdown shows within his debut and defeating Jericho cleanly in his PPV debut. Dude got injured shortly after he turned heel and was limited to the mic since he coildnt wrestle during his brief appearances. When he came back from injury his feud was against Lesnar for the title that he won in a tournament looking strong beating Benoit, Taker, and Rikishi and his match against Rikishi was the first time we had a glimpse of Cena's super strength. Then he feuded with Angle and Undertaker and Benoit before turning face becoming one of two sole survivors in a tag match and rest is history. Edit: Oh yeah and Cena's in ring abilities were really criticized. Probably even more so then Reigns right now. Everyone was talking about how lost he looked despite working with Benoit, Angle, and Guerrero and Taker has to carry his ass in his only real good match. It felt like Cena didn't really improve his ring skills till late 05-06 That didn't happen right away though. Shortly after he beat Jericho the guy was lost in the shuffle and trading wins with guys like Reverend D'Von, Rikishi, and Billy Kidman. He definitely wasn't being pushed as the heir apparent or anything close back then. That didn't happen until after he turned heel and stumbled into the rapper character. The fact they put on him on Velocity semi-regularly--- no offense to Velocity, but it was undoubtedly a B-Show--- about a month after that win over Jericho probably says something as well. And of course there are the rumblings that they were supposedly going to cut him before the heel turn.

I love the idea of Actual Sheamus. Sheamus in 2009 was so awesome and a huge part of what got me interested enough to start watching again. I guess his booking was kinda similar to Rusev. I loved how he murdered Noble and Lawler.

It's less about Sheamus's abilities and more about what they tried to make Sheamus in to. He had the same reports about him "being the next Cena" and they did the exact same thing they're doing with Roman. I guess Vince thought 18 Seconds and the 6 month Del Rio feud would propel Fella into the moon or something, but it fell flat on it's ass. Unlike Reigns though, Sheamus can bring out the best in some guys and is a decent worker so he pretty much fell right back into place in the midcard. Besides being good looking and having swag, Reigns doesn't have that yet. And you know what? I feel for the guy cause he's in a bad spot either way. He turns down a big push to be "the next guy", then he's a lazy pussy who doesn't wanna reach for the brass ring and he's sent back to NXT or Superstars. If he goes for it and he doesn't meet Vince's unrealistic expectations of him in like 4 months, then he's STILL a lazy pussy who didn't reach for the brass ring. Unless he's starts getting at least 2010 Batista levels in the ring by Mania, he literally cannot win.

They aren't sending him back to NXT (for anything more than a one off "special treat" for the fans) or Superstars (at least not on a regular basis) no matter how hard he flops. Once a guy has been pushed past a certain level, they really can't be moved too far down the card even if they get jobbed out for a whole year (the same reason why guys like Sheamus, Ziggler, Miz or even Swagger aren't in the low card and why Ryback never got pinned by anyone below a certain level even after taking a massive hit to his momentum). At the very least, he's safe from being Ryder'd if only because of his family ties.

This was probably just a rib on Roman... he gets married over the weekend and then had to be at Raw on Monday when he's been off for three months. Screw his honeymoon!

If they really want Roman to be the next top guy, they couldn't be screwing this up any worse. He could get there if given time, but this is just going to get a chunk of folks turned against him right from jump street.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished dead last in the actual voting for the award.

Ya know what would make me mind less? If he finally gets rid of his Shield gear and music. The other two have struck out on their own and moved on, yet he's the douche who's still running around like the Shield's still a thing.
