he was my least favorite from the shield, but I can't shake the feeling that the Anti Reigns train took off when it became inevitable he was gonna get the super push. Can't decided if its due to overexposure or just another guy the iwc doesn't want on top It was because he doesn't have to skills to back up the super push. If someone like Dolph Ziggler got "shoved down our throats", it would be accepted.

Roman Reigns could be the face of the company if he's given time to grow into the role in an organic way, spends time developing a personality and character in the midcard outside of the Shield, but the WWE want to skip that and pop him in the main event because that's where they have decided he should be. Sadly, in 2 years time they're going to have another 'main event' guy with no depth to his character and limited drawing power because they rushed and forced his solo push.

Pretty sure we already have a thread or two about this subject. By all means, lock it if you must. No complaints here.

(pun not intended) Reigns was praised in the trio, and liked his Survivor Series 2013 and Rumble 2014 performances. Not trying to sound like a cynical douche, just playing Devil's Advocate because I find the iwc turn on Reigns kinda perplexing. People hate me for saying this but I cant help but think this is IWC hating whoever the WWE machine chooses as the focus that's not an indy darling. Again Devil's Advocate.

He's the new Cena.
I think that's exactly what the WWE wants.

The thing I don't get is that WWE isn't even behind Roman Reigns all that much. Guy's feuded with Randy Orton/The Authority since The Shield ended and has won a lot of his matches. Is that really cause for hate? Sure, you've got that news(z) report that says Roman is going to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, but there's no evidence right now to suggest that's happening and Roman isn't even back yet from his injury. It really just seems like hate for hate's sake to me.

WWE can do worse than having Roman topple Lesnar. Roman was a complete beast as part of the Shield and held his own in some fantastic matches. He's pretty much anything you could ask for in a heavyweight: tall, handsome, athletic, and looking fully capable of ripping your head off. Could he use some seasoning? Sure. But it would be a HUGE waste to not push him to the top after all of this.
I mean, come on, would you rather have Cena on top AGAIN for the next year?

Seth, Brock, and Bray weren't winning because they're heels, Cena hasn't won since 2012, and Daniel Bryan's been out for the majority of 2014. So that really just left Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns and there's no way to tell how close that might've been.

I think it's been prmarily a case of bad timing for Reigns - it wasn't so much the push but that it was seen primarily as either a) compensation for breaking up the Shield or b) a more palatable (to the McMahons) alternative to pushing someone like Ziggler (who got over anyway and earned his pushes this year) in the face of so many suffering injuries.

So? That's a load of people in pop and rap that are popular that I don't like. Does that mean I have to listen to them just because most people do?

His skill set is adequate at best. He needs a new name, the one he's got now is cornwallace.

First the talk of Roman spearing his wife through the barricade and now Roman is sucking your opinion...
New gimmick: Roman Reigns: Sexual Deviant.

It would help if he cut down on some of these catchphrases. Unless you're the Rock you should only be allowed two catchphrases max.

At the same time, look at it like this; If Roman fails as "the guy", whether that's sub par skill, not catching on with the audience or just downright not being cut out for it, what do you think Vince is going to do? Create someone else? Come on! He'll be even more dependent on Cena and Orton because they at least aren't a risk. And Vince isn't going to take two risks in a row.
