The video was silly but having seen a decent amount of these guys on NXT I can safely tell you they won't work at all trying to riff on the LOD. These guys just aren't that big. I forget which is which, but one guy is a typical midsized pro wrestler, actually probably on the small side for the era in which the Road Warriors competed. The other is a bit bigger but not remotely a scary force.

Yeah, Viktor is 6'1" 217 lbs, which is the same billed height and weight as Seth Rollins is. Possibly the smallest guy to work power wrestling without it being a pisstake like it was with "super heavyweight" Crash Holly.
Konnor is billed at 6'5" 265 lbs, which is a couple of inches taller than Hawk of the Road Warriors/Legion Of Doom, and only a couple of pounds lighter.

Viktor is still a lot bigger than a lot of NXT guys he's typically against, he can play a powerhouse convincingly against Lucha Dragons, Itami, Enzo, etc.

Damn. I know Vince and company loved making Road Warrior clones but this is ridiculous.

This is gonna own. We haven't had a power tag team in WWE in a while. I love one Ryback so I'm jazzed for a team of two Rybacks

Damn, one 60 second promo and we are already burying them. I adore NXT, but in the current WWE very few of the NXT gimmicks will work when they move up without subtle changes. Ascension may be corny, but compared to current WWE tag teams, they are fantastic tag-team workers. I think they will tinker with their look a few times until they scale back to their final NXT look. I also think that they will catch on with the current WWE main programming demographic - which isn't us, unfortunately.

They aren't corny. They are an old style dedicated tag team like the Luchas, Los Matadores, Vaudvillains, The Dusts, New Day etc... That's what WWE needs more of, rather than that "JeriShow" bullshit

That was awesome. Nice throwback. We need a good Power & Paint tag team in current WWE. A little cheese never hurt anyone.

They are fine by me. Just saw them having a killer match with Finn and Hideo. Classic heels.

I don't know how it'll go on the main roster.

I'm going to just skip the 5 pages of hatred for this and say this is f***ing awesome and what wrestling is supposed to look like. I liked them already, but now I really like them.

I found them cool, I love when the WWE does tribute gimmicks but without using the original name

To be fair, Viktor's offense has always been agility based. I don't recall him doing too many power moves. To that end, I'd almost say The Ascension are sort of a hybrid of The Road Warriors and The Eliminators.
