I've enjoyed plenty of Colt Cabana, but it always amazed me with Punk as big as he was in the WWE at one time he was never able to get Colt a job there. Either as an announcer, wrestler or what have you. All I can think of is that they have ZERO interest in him.
Although it is true Colt could have turned them down I've never heard of this happening. Plus, I don't see why he would. I know some people who have worked on VERY successful podcasts and...there just isn't much money in it. Even for ones more successful than Colt's. Even if WWE didn't offer Colt a huge contract I'd imagine it would still be bigger than what he makes through his podcast and indies.
So come on WWE. Whya you know like Colt Cabana? Whatsamatta you?

You know, for a company that loves its comedy jobbers, you'd think Colt would be a slam dunk.
I sometimes wonder if his association with Punk is what kept on the outs.

Isn't most of his comedy done in-ring? Which would be hard to hear in large arena's rather than local schools etc.

Never been a fan, don't find him funny when doing comedy or enjoy his matches when he's serious so I don't care they've never had an interest. That said WWE have had much worse wrestlers and less funny comedy characters than him over the years!

...he had a job there.
After he was released for whatever reason? Nah, it doesn't bother me too much even though I like him.
Kinda surprised they didn't do much with him when they had him since it seems like he'd do well as one of their comedy mid-carders at the very least.

Not familiar enough with him to care either way really.

Didn't WWE give Colt Cabana a tryout for an announcing job? As for wrestling, I'm sure Colt would be great in NXT if given the chance, but I don't see him going anywhere near as far as people would want.

So you're the other guy!

Didn't they give him a commentary tryout just before Punk quit? Punk leaving probably put him on the blacklist.

Well, he did get a tryout at NXT for an announcing gig. Then Punk left. And that was all she wrote for Cabana.

He's like Ricardo Rodriguez, a decent talent who just didn't fit the WWE mold. Had be been paired with someone as their comedy sidekick, he would have gotten over and had a longer run but they would never have pushed him solo because he doesn't have the look or the ability to make rotten scripted comedy work... He's only funny when he can be himself.

I actually liked the "What's Crackin'?" webshow, and he would have been alright at the announce table or as a backstage interviewer, but I didn't have much interest in Colt/Goldman as a wrestler.

Did TNA ever show any interest in him either ? Outside a tryout match, nope. Colt is someone whose shtick doesn't translate well to the masses. Think of him as Louis C.K. and less Kevin Hart.

I think the ideal time to sign him would have been like 7 years ago.

I understand why WWE felt that way since I had zero interest in him too. I just don't find him funny or entertaining.

Kind of weird that being CM Punk's friend makes you more guilty by association than being CM Punk's wife! Now I could see guilt by association for having Punk on Art of Wrestling to vent about the company seeing as how he could be perceives as an "accomplice".
Speaking of CM Punk and being "Guilty by Association"
