If Rosamund Pike wins we can say that someone from Die Another Day won an Oscar! How many former Bond girls have won Oscars beside Halle Berry?

If Rosamund Pike wins we can say that someone from Die Another Day won an Oscar! I was referring to people who are only really known for being in a Bond film.

Denise Richards was a Bond girl. She also won an Oscar.
Several actually. More than Meryl Streep.

I hope Steve Carell wins even though he already had his Oscar moment: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

I am rooting for Rosamund Pike, but I think the Academy will finally honor Julianne Moore after years of getting nominated and not winning. She plays a woman with early onset Alzheimer's and she does do a tremendous job. The fact that Moore was so good in this mixed in with her never winning the Oscar makes me think she is a near-lock to win. Still, I'm rooting for Pike.

Julianne Moore should have won ages ago. One of Hollywood's absolute best.

I love Julianne Moore to death, but Cotillard deserves this. She was phenomenal in Two Days, One Night...hell, she was better in The Immigrant than anyone else this year too.

So let me get this straight:
The most critically-acclaimed animated movie of 2014 doesn't get nominated for Best Animated Feature,
A biopic about the greatest speech-giver of all time, which due to contractual stupidity can't use any of his speech so they all had to be originally created, doesn't get nominated for Best Original Screenplay,
but American Sniper gets a best picture nomination.
This has got to be the worst list of noms in years, maybe decades.

The more of think about this list the more awful it is. Gone Girl is honestly not even nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay or Score?
And no one even f***ing liked American Sniper.

Kinda bummed that not a single actor from Selma got nominated Oprah won't be happy. "The Butler" got stiffed too. Well The Butler was cookie cutter crap, mostly. Selma absolutely deserved a Best Actor and screenplay nom, but whatever. Gotta force those British biopics. Since Boyhood, Whiplash, Birdman and Grand Budapest Hotel got noms, I don't think the category is THAT bad this year. I think since it was such a strong year, the Academy would have had to really screw up to miss all 8. I just wish some movies (Nightcrawler, Gone Girl, Under the Skin, The Immigrant, Two Days One Night, Ida, Beyond the Lights acting wise, Snowpiercer) were given more of a look. Whatever though.

I'll be pretty upset if Everything Is Awesome doesn't win for best song. Nothing will get stuck in your head like that song does.

I really hope it's not some small BS rule that prevented The Lego Movie getting that Best Animated nomination. BS rules have prevented great films and roles from getting noms. "Oh we could not nominate the exceptional 'Senna' for best documentary cause it was entirely archive footage". Spoiler for Fight Club below... {Spoiler}"Oh we would of loved to have nominated Edward Norton's awesome performance for best actor for 'Fight Club' but his character was played by two actors at the same time and for some reason that is not allowed."

though I'm happy that "Everything is Awesome!" got a nomination. Darkness by Batman should have also got a nomination in my opinion I am being entirely serious as well! I agree entirely with people who are saying Lego Movie should have got a Best Animation nom as well, truly great film and another knockout from Miller and Lord with a great record so far

The Oscars I feel aren't worth shit anymore Meh, this is far better than the year Crash won. At least there's no Crash. Give it time, with the spin machines, there will soon be a frontrunner movie that is deemed overrated and pretentious. Like American Hustle last year.
