Anyone reading He-Man vs. Thundercats by DC? If not, get to it! It's tons of fun. I got the first two issues and thought they were terrible. I was so excited for it too. I shouldn't be surprised though. Almost all of DC's He-Man comics have been horrible. I'd really like to see a smaller company that would make it a top priority get the license.

That replacing the joints with magnets may be a way for me to fix broken figures without having to thread an o-ring through the body. Hmmm.

Thing is.....at this point it's being written by people AT Mattel. The scripts for the previous He-Man books (MOTU & Eternity War) were coming from DC writers like Abnett and Giffen, but the plots - and in the case of Thundercats/He-Man the script too - were coming from Lloyd Goldfine and Rob David......2 top guys heading up He-Man at Mattel. So anywhere the property goes, they follow and probably keep strong reigns on whatever happens. I got a couple issues and probably need to pick up the rest, but I rather liked what I saw of this mini, though I'll confess the artwork (Freddie Williams II) was the huge draw.

Opinions about the 1982 miniseries?

Said director was McG :-D :-D :-D True, but announcing the movie has a release date AND that the director is off the project at the same time seems......hazardous to that release date's viability.

After the G.I. Joe movies I don't have much faith in this. There are probably executives in a room right now plotting on how they can reinvent all the characters.
Skeletor was He-Man's best friend before he turned evil.
Evil Lynn is Skeletor's sister.
Evil Lynn and He-man used to date.
Only reason Evil Lynn is evil is because she is under mind control.
He-Man's new best friend is Clamp Champ (played by a white actor) while Man-At-Arms is oddly not in the film at all.
Main bad guy in the film is Beast Man but Skeletor takes over at the very end.

Eh, the property is pretty much based on constant reinvention and rebooting. Remember, the original version before the Filmation cartoon didn't have anything like Adam or Orko or the like - He-Man was just a big lug from a village that was given a magic sword and vest (the vest was the source of his power) to stop the interdimensional demon Skeletor from using Grayskull to open a gate to his homeworld, so that the whole race of Skeletors could invade and conquer the planet.
One continuity has Teela as the daughter of the Sorceress, another as the daughter of Sorceress and Fisto (which is funny because in that canon, Fisto and Man At Arms are brothers, which means Duncan raised his brother's daughter as his own without ever knowing it), and another she's actually a clone of the Sorceress.
...and then there's the New Adventures...

I somehow want He-Man to canonically meet all of the Sungold knockoffs. I want Baltar to have his time to shine.

(And yes I know you're just taking stuff that happens in Rise of Cobra and replacing Joe words with He-Man words) One continuity has Teela as the daughter of the Sorceress, another as the daughter of Sorceress and Fisto (which is funny because in that canon, Fisto and Man At Arms are brothers, which means Duncan raised his brother's daughter as his own without ever knowing it), and another she's actually a clone of the Sorceress. I rather liked the Teela as the Sorceress' daughter (which they ran with full bore in the recent comics) angle and how they handled that, for the most part. I had forgotten the clone origin (from the very 1st minicomics, right?) until you mentioned it. And the Fisto heritage......that was the '00s cartoon, yes? Did they get as far as saying that, because I recall it being hinted at but nothing more...

And if Michael Bay was there? - Explosions! All the time. - Megan Fox is Teela. - Orko somehow made into a black stereotype. - The modern version of Courteney Cox and friends do all the work. - US Military! Because why not?

Just been watching a ton of the 80s series
- The music is so awesome - A lot deeper than I remember. The Rainbow Warrior episode is so progressive and Queen Marlena hinting at knowing Adam's secret is great. - The world is amazing - with time corridors, ice beasts, forest giants, wizards etc. - I want a wind raider - Did Skeletor ever read the instruction manual on that havoc staff? It can do shit better than Greyskull and it's powers. - Hmmm, Adam, Teela and a green tiger go to a distant planet to help. Adam disappears, He-Man appears with a green tiger in armour. Still can't figure it out Teela??
Watched the 2002 series, and though I liked it at the time, this doesn't hold up. Original He-Man threw Castle Greyskull across dimensions and punched asteroids. 2002 He-Man does acrobatics and lifts little rocks.
