I have a clear memory as a little kid of seeing a picture for this new He-Man cartoon in the tv listings magazine. This was the '83 one. He-Man in the classic mid-transformation bit, holding on the fizzling sword with both hands and yelling at it.
I also remember clearly what my childhood thought was - "Why is he orange?"
And shortly after watching the show for the first time, "Skeletor has the exact same muscles as him, why isn't he as strong?"

Skeletor > He-Man. My brother fully agrees! Not just because Skeletor was his nickname at one point:P

Wasn't a She-Ra fan, but damn did the Evil Horde kick ass!!!
The early He-Man toyline is classic, but toward the end characters were either really cool (and gimmicky) or really weird (and gimmicky). It didn't help that Thundercats showed up and basically destroyed MotU, as far as fantasy characters are concerned.

One of the things I love about the current MOTUClassics line (beyond there being over a hundred figures and having awesome sculpts) is that they're tying in the mythologies from all the different continuities (original mini-comics where He-Man was basically a caveman, Filmation, New Adventures, She-Ra, 200x, the Lundgren movie, etc) into one big, epic storyline.

He-Man has gotten infinitely better in years since, with the 2002 cartoon series developing new ideas/changes to make it all better in more modern years (I believe they were the ones to adjust Skeletor's lineage), and then the more recent comics that have really shaken EVERYTHING up ( {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Sorceress RIP, Teela replaces her, Randor was King Hsss all along, and the wonderful little revelation that Adam = He-Man is pretty much common knowledge ) Yeah, I'm loving the new comic. It was kinda ok when Giffen was writing it but now that Andy Lanning is writing it's awesome. And with Sjepan Sejic on covers! I wish Stjepan had time to do the interiors as well I loved him on Witchblade.

I don't collect action figures but I go to He-Man.org and try to follow the unified storyline. I'm a little confused though because there's not a place I can just read it all in order.

There's a couple of threads on their board that put everything into order. This one is done narrative-style and can be a bit tough to read through - www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?181392-MOTUC-Narrative-Based-on-the-BiosThere's another one that breaks all of the info down bullet-point style in chronological order - www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?199223-The-MotUC-TimelineBoth are being updated as new story details are added and holes are filled.

Skeletor is easily one of my all time favourite characters, Dude is awesome in anything he does. His acting in MacBeth was off the charts His Hamlet where he took off his own head to deliver the "Alas poor Yorick" speech was a masterclass

Skeletor > He-Man. Scareglow>all Bah, he can't be real. He is the "Evil Ghost of Skeletor," so that means Skeletor has to be dead for him to exist. I refuse to live in a world without a Skeletor.

Despite the wordage, Scareglow was never intended to be Skeletor's ghost or portrayed as such. He was simply a ghost serving him, thus "of" his.

Look at how buff all the Masters Of The Universe dudes are, I wonder how many "elevated liver enzymes" these Eternians have?
