Shame they aren't gonna sign AJ Styles, I know he's 37, but I think they could get some good years with him still. He's IWGP World champ, he ain't leaving NJPW soon

Samoa Joe is a large man that needs to adjust his diet and exercise habits. This sounds like the Intellectual Savior version of HE'S FAT!

Kind of makes me sad, in a way: Joe's been my favorite wrestler in the industry since 2004, and if he goes to WWE full time I won't get to watch him as much due to my viewing habits (or lack thereof). Not to say I've watched TNA non-stop since he got there, either, but Joe in WWE is just an odd thing to picture. I was also getting super hyped for him challenging Jay Briscoe for the ROH title, which I'm guessing will still happen, but won't feel the same if it becomes common knowledge that he's headed to McMahon-Land. I know there's plenty of fat jokes here (seriously, it gets old...but then somebody quotes one and improves on it and I laugh in spite of myself), but when Joe has been put in a prominent position in TNA over the last few years, he's still managed to deliver, and still gets the crowd behind him big time. I was hoping to see some more of that back in ROH, or maybe in a few other places, but that's the way things go.
That said, if it's what he wants, then I'm thrilled for Joe as a person and as a professional. Dude has earned a crack at the big time, and while I hate the whole concept of "you haven't made it until you've worked a Wrestlemania!" (which ignores both how bad many 'Manias have been and means down-ranking people like Sting...well, at least until this year), if he has it on his bucket list then I hope he gets his chance.
THAT said, it doesn't appear any of this is confirmed yet, though if Joe cleared his calendar around late-April and that NXT taping, then maybe there's something to it.

really deserves his shot if this is true - might not have a huge shelf life but a motivated Samoa Joe could have some great matches with the likes of cena, bryan, ambrose, ziggler, wyatt, rollins - even if he's just nxt - joe v neville or balor or kenta or zyan or owens- all potentially great matches.

I don't get the age thing - he's only a little bit older than Itami and Balor, right?

Go ahead and give me hate, but Samoa Joe needs to get in better shape. No, you're right. Dude's awesome, but we all know only Bray Wyatt can get away with flabby.

Here's Joe from last weekend's ROH show. I think Wyatt is in much better shape. It's only been the last couple of years that I thought Joe's weight was getting out of hand and effecting his ring-work.

Don't worry, DeMott will make a decent wrestler out of Joe.

Go ahead and give me hate, but Samoa Joe needs to get in better shape. I agree. I love Joe but he was gassed and sweating just from walking out to the ring at ROH's 13th Anniversary show. Granted the emotion and intensity of the moment would have some effect on him physically, but he didn't look too good. I don't mean he "didn't look too good" in that he was fat, a lot of people are much fatter than him... Joe was just giving off a "late career Sam Kinison/Chris Farley" vibe to me. Red-faced and pouring sweat from very little physical exertion. I was and am legitimately concerned for him. Hopefully he gets his cardio back in check.

Are Styles and Joe the TNA equivalent to Hall and Nash, if they both ever arrived in WWE at the same time? Then Cena can be the face that turns heel that no one expected. Then we have the T-nWo.

Guys, if you're going to judge Joe's overall health based on what he looked like fully clothed under TV production lights, then I think you're kind of looking in the wrong place.
Joe's had plenty of matches in the past few months that have been just fine. He hasn't been asked to go near an hour-long draw any time recently that I'm aware of, so that could be an issue, but his overall work has been quite good at times in recent memory.
