Yeah, but that was WCW. And WCW sucked. They weren't entertaining anyone or putting smiles on people's faces.What this guy said....    Well...mostly smiles....at least 25% of the time for sure. Eh, I think the second one was saved by Will Sasso's excellent Hogan impression and willingness to get beat up by wrestlers - which also happened in WCW. |

I just want to weigh in to agree that the Muppets Raw was incredible. Also, at least WWE's never had a fictional character have to bail out one of their top faces. They've done some stupid shit with crossovers but they haven't hit full Robocop. A former World Champion lost a match thanks to interference by Beaker. At least it wasn't a former WWE Champion. |

I found the MacGruber episode really really unfunny and bad, even though I like MacGruber generally. Chucky is alwayas good though. Wasn't the the episode where 3/4 of the roster was stuck in Europe because of a volcano erupted? And the same one where R-Truth got blown up by MacGruber (despite the fact that it was obvious that he jumped into the gorilla position). |

I can't speak for the Chucky thing, since I haven't watched a ton of WCW, so I'm not familiar what was going on with Chucky. But I'll defend 3 of the 4 WWE ones that the OP posted: The Muppets appearance was silly, but that's the entire point of the Muppets, so I'm fine with it. I still wished that there had been an alternate Statler and Waldorf commentary that night though. The TMNT thing was promoting whatever game of theirs was out at the time. It lasted as long as any other time they show a celebrity in the crowd, and considering this was 2009, it was probably one of the highlights of the show. The only reason I'm okay with Scooby-Doo is that it provided us with this GIF:  Grumpy Cat is the only one that was really pointless, since there weren't really any funny moments I remember. There was also a distinct lack of Aubrey Plaza. |

Which actually falls in line with how the characters in the MacGruber skits on SNL always show up none the worse for wear in succeeding skits. |
