I was in the impression that with the wildlings, if you want something you beat the shit out of the one who can give it to you to get it. Or at least those little bits of info about wildling culture that Ygritte spouted in between flirting with/boning/"You kno nothing" Jon Snow made me believe so. Tormund wanted the elders, Lord of Bones says no, Tormund kills Lord of Bones, elders he has. From what I understand, they use the same "Asskicking Equals Authority" system as the Dothraki. The moment you stop being badass is the moment you lose your power. Another thing: Holy Shit that legitimately caught me off guard. A regular episode and then suddenly 30% of it becomes Episode 9. Jesus.

By the friggin way, did anyone else notice the guy on Jon's boat remained hooded the entire time? I'm talking about the one who was steering the boat.

So about Jorah, {Spoiler}he's definitely biting it next week. He's got the taint and Dany rejected him. I think he's going to die in that Fight Pit and it'll cause Dany to have a change of heart about the arrangement.

I always thought Kit Harrington was a bit of a Streisand, but I gotta say he was rocking his shit in this one.
And the Lord of Bones was a douche. They were probably glad to see him go.

Jesus. Mance Rayder won their loyalty by killing each clan's best warrior. The Free Folk respect strength more than any sort of position someone has. That's why they use the term "kneelers" as a derogatory term for those who live south of the wall. The idea that someone leads a group of people simply because of their last name is baffling to them. Therefore, since The Lord of the Bones ruled the Hardhome clan and Tormund bludgeoned the ever-loving shit out of him, Tormund is now the clan leader.

I was seriously going to stop watching. This season was a big let down. Juts everything has seemed wrong. The story seemed to be stalling and going no where and the scripts were terrible.
But this episode saved me. It was great from start to finish.
Its a shame Jorah couldn't return to Daenerys service though, but her meeting with Tyrion was great.
And the battle with the white walkers was epic. Winter has come

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I definitely agree that Olly is going to "kill" Jon. Sam just signed his best friend's death warrant and he doesn't even know it.

Just remembered this now... the Lord of Bones' bodywasn't burnt. Tormund better be watching his back when the white walkers come to play! (yeah, I know that they're basically zombies unless you're in the "Ice Elf" status, but still)

This series had been suffering from the same problem books 4 and 5 had. In that the actual story ground to a halt and we got a lot of filler to pad it out. Some character progression but nothing really happening.
And then... this. Something new yet inevitable. Just utterly incredible. The way they built that seen, how a potentially positive moment became a living hell. And it was a living hell, the snow literally being the horns of the dead as they descended on the helpless living.
And my god, I don't know the woman who played the female elder but she knocked it out of the park. In twenty minutes I grew to like her, then respect her, then be devastated by her death. Utterly amazing.

Possibly GoT's best episode, up there with the Battle of Blackwater and the Red Wedding. Just the sheer epic scale of the fight scenes, and the penny dropping right at the end, the mood has certainly changed. And the usual monster Episode 9 is NEXT. What can they do to follow THAT?

With everything that happened, it's easy to forget that Sansa found out her brothers may still be alive.

Saw some argument today because someone in the UK tweeted the events of the show at about 3am this morning, even though it had just finished airing here. It was because most people watch the new episodes on the monday 9pm slot, so it shouldn't have been spoiled. Maybe the person who tweeted about it could have at least given a warning about it but technically it had aired in the UK at that point, so it wasn't a spoiler.

From here on out, Tormund Giantsbane should be in every fight scene from here in out. The actor who plays him shines in every battle with his badass battle cries and berserker fighting style.

Should have known when I asked before that the White Walker King would be the main villain. The beautiful thing is it was him and his army all along, it just took until this episode to realize how much of a threat they are. I mean, it was kinda obvious though wasn't it? When I talk to co-workers or friends of mine, we mention the usual players...Boltons, Starks, Lannisters, etc, but we almost always end up with "but then you have the White Walkers too, what role will they play?"I do think the plans from people like Littlefinger and Varys are going to go to shit when they realize how much of a threat the White Walkers are, kinda hard to rule when you're an animated corpse. I mean, it's sort of obvious when the first scene of both the book and the show waz a white walker attack. The you heard jack shite, of them after, is an obvious first sign that they are the real threat. Funny to see people are sort of shocked, by this. Also, I've only ever read the first book but I guarantee Daenerys won't win the game, in the end, she's been painted as such since the beginning. The wheel will be broken, but by someone in the background. The Brothers Without Borders are far too unassuming and in the background, and legit represent the breaking of the wheel, I put good money on them ending the monarchy, and Westoros is left with the early goings of some sort of democracy. This story is a reflection on our own history, to begin with.
