Sounds totally easier than recasting the part.
Although maybe it's just for a small scene like the end of Ep 3?

So reports at the moment is don't expect sequels to spin-offs. Of course that could change depending on how much each one makes.
Are talks of a new Star Wars movie every year

Are talks of a new Star Wars movie every year If these Anthology films are side stories to the main plot, I can't imagine how they'd get sequels from them. Based on the plot synopsis for Rogue One, its sequel is pretty much A New Hope.

All they need is a character to catch on with the audience and they can spin them off into their own side-story that runs concurrent with A New Hope. Wedge Antilles in the Underworld, anybody? How about Porkins and the Blaster Runners? Nien Nunb and the A-Wing That Disappeared?

This is about stealing the Death Star 1 plans.. Sorry if this is a spoiler I don't know. But the fact that these characters are not mentioned in the OT and the Empire are aware that the Leia has the plans.. I get the feeling that the crew are not getting a happy ending.

Some Early Plot Details From MSW That actually sounds pretty cool to me. I'm actually quite excited for this movie, I think it has a lot of potential.

Quite enjoyed Force Awakens, really no interest in seeing this. Largely because I don't see how it could be anything but two or three hours worth of inconsequential fluff you don't need to know about. Movie'll probably be a decent popcorn flick, but doesn't really seem like going out of the way to watch.

I figure it will be like his role in Rebels. Someone will be chasing them, but he'll be the one that kills them after getting impatient with his officers. They'll get the plans to Leia obviously but, they're not going to make it with them.
Good to see James Earl Jones will be doing the voice. He just had an episode of Rebels with Vader and It's been all but confirmed he'll be back later this season as well.
I'm more interested in the rumor that one of the rebels is the official Death Star scientist who has an Oppenheimer-like guilty conscience and defects.
It's also interesting that it was built on Genosis as well. We know from the comics that the empire sterilized Genosians. I wonder if they had them do hard labor on the Death Star as well.

I'm going to completely mutilate the spelling of the name as I'm too lazy to jet over to Wookiepedia, but it sounds like Mads' character is fairly close to being Bevel Lemensk from the old EU. At least in terms of role. Call it a hunch, but I get the sense that the Emperor repeatedly killing and resurrecting the Death Star architect isn't something that's going to be carried over.

Gareth Edwards is directing this, right? So i'm expecting Vader to be plastered all over every single trailer, commercial, & poster for this flick and actually be in the movie for like 15 minutes.

Interesting that his name is Galen as well. The name of another famous defector from the EU.

I'll watch this but it seems strange to me to release this a few months before Episode VIII comes out. I feel like a lot of casual fans will get lost in the timeline wondering where Rey, Kylo, Finn, and Poe are.

I imagine towards the end of the movie we will see a scene play out like this:
Imperial Officer (over hologram com): Lord Vader, a group of rebels broken into a Empire facility and have stolen data of the super weapon. We chasing down the group but our coms say they have transmitted to a diplomatic transport. Darth Vader: this is most displeasing, you capture all rebels dead or alive, I'll deal with diplomat ship... Where is it? IO: it was last seen heading toward the Tatoonie System. Darth Vader: (long silence) Tatioonie? IO: Yes sir, is there something wrong sir? Vader: Not of your concern Commander just get those rebels and make sure any data captured is destroyed. IO: YES SIR (fades out) Vader: (over com to to Star Destroyer commander) Commander set a cause for the Tatioonie System!

I feel like a lot of casual fans will get lost in the timeline wondering where Rey, Kylo, Finn, and Poe are. Well there's a theory out there that Felicity Jones is going to wind up being Rey's mother. It would make sense to let us meet Rey's mother, before it's revealed she's Rey's mother. There's also the chance we'll see Shara, who was Poe's mother. So they can bring it all full circle to the new characters.
