RIP
So iconic.
The man lived out his dream. He was massive fan of The Lord Of The Rings books, he even met Tolkien while he was still alive. Not only did he act in Peter Jackson Middle Earth movies, but Jackson often consultated with Lee while making them.

Iconic actor, voice and just a presence on screen. Oh, and that little matter of his war record, or what we are allowed to know about it...let's be honest, if this were a bio-pic, many would call his character a Mary Sue because he had been there and done that in just about any situation one can think of. Scary thing is, it was all true.
RIP, another legendary voice goes silent. Long life, well lived, and that's saying something.

281 acting credits in his life. WHen you think about that, that's absolutely insane how prolific he was.

He was one of the last of the great classic horror movie actors. And he lived a rich, full life on top of that. It was great to see him play prominent roles in a good handful of big time films in his last years. RIP

An absolute bad ass and legend that commanded respect wherever he went and whatever he did. Very few are able to say they lived a life as rich and full as his. RIP.

yahoosg.tumblr.com/post/121326841200/5-reasons-christopher-lee-was-more-badass-than-any5 reasons Christopher Lee was more badass than any of his roles 1. He was a World War II commando It’s telling that 70 years after the end of WWII, Lee’s service records are still sealed. What we do know is that he served with the UK’s Long Range Desert Patrol - the forerunner of the elite Special Air Service. He then joined the Special Operations Executive a.k.a the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. By the end of the war, Lee had been decorated for battlefield bravery by the Czech, Yugoslavian, English, and Polish governments. So make of that what you will. The great man himself even said once: “I’ve seen many men die right in front of me - so many in fact that I’ve become almost hardened to it.” 2. He hunted Nazi war criminals In the final months of his military service, Lee hunted Nazi war criminals on behalf of the UN’s Central Registry, in a 2009 interview with The Times of London, he said: “We were given dossiers of what they’d done and told to find them, interrogate them as much as we could and hand them over to the appropriate authority. In view of the fact that there were Palestinians with us — which simply means Jews, because of course Israel was not its own country until 1948 — you can imagine how they felt. We saw these concentration camps. Some had been cleaned up. Some had not.” 3. He met J.R.R. Tolkien There aren’t many people alive who can claim this, but Lee actually met Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien in the 1950s. In fact, Lee is the only member of the LOTR cast to have done so: “Quite by chance, really. I met him with a group of other people in a pub in Oxford he used to go to, The Eagle and Child. I was very much in awe of him, as you can imagine, so I just said, “how do you do?” 4. He recorded several heavy metal albums Yes, this isn’t a joke. Lee, a classically trained singer, began recording heavy metal albums while in his 80s. His first album was entitled Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross. And here’s the kicker: Lee actually was a descendant of the Frankish king Charlemagne, on his mother’s side. 5. He was a master fencer who did his own stunts From rapier to cutlass to light saber, Lee did it all. He was a member of three stuntman unions, and was injured several times too.

The man sword-fought Errol Flynn in a movie scene, getting his rib broke cause Flynn was drunk. Think about that. He was a literal connection to a world of motion picture that we only look back on with reverence. Lee was always amazing. Always. Peter Jackson apparently told him to 'imagine the sound of someone getting stabbed in the back," for an action scene in LOTR and Lee responded, "I don't have to imagine."
Lee had some amazing lines in his life, but his quotes are on point, like his one stating that actors will make terrible movies but the point is not to be terrible in them.
I just assumed he'd live to 100. It just seemed destined. I'm saddened to see him go but glad to see the amount of respect he earned over his years. Such an amazing person behind the actor.

Very few actors have had such a fascinating and fulfilling career and life as a whole, from z-grade schlock to gargantuan blockbusters and everything in between, he's experienced all levels of cinema. I guarantee you that in a hundred years, people will still discuss his movies and his career.
