He said in an audio update yesterday that he would not be surprised if Mania is PPV-only next year and not on the Network. And would expect a lot of people to get rid of the network

This must be Seth Rollins fault. I think we should blame Daniel Bryan.

See TNA this is how you blow money. Not on repainted belts and WWE rejects, but on Japanese drum bands and Terminator H.

The Terminator entrance probably ate up a good chunk of money. I'd imagine Paramount paid WWE for that, actually.

Lesnar wasn't at Mania 21. Damn. I knew there was one I was forgetting (not sure if Arizona counts either). Well, if you are going by time zone, I guess it could because Arizona doesn't practice DST.

How is that even possible? I mean I know literally how it's possible but....how is that possible!? Well, the idea behind putting all PPVs on WWE Network was to pretty much sacrifice Wrestlemania revenue in order to boost revenue for the rest of the year and come out ahead overall. While I'm slightly surprised the event lost money, Wrestlemania in a vacuum will never be the ridiculously huge financial success it once was as long as you can watch it for $10. Especially since the company backed down on their commitment stance and now people are able to cancel whenever they want.

While I'm not exactly looking forward to paying more for the Network, I will have lots of laughs at WWE's expense when they do raise the price.

Yeah and looking back 26 didn't do too hot either. Man, that is weird. I guess going to arenas in the LA area doesn't hurt but other than that, they don't have the best luck.

How was WrestleMania 31 a financial failure but WrestleMania XXX a success? Could be because only the US had the Network in Wrestlemania 30 while The Network finally expanded by Wrestlemania 31.

Maybe WWE needs to stop paying these part-time superstars millions just to wrestle one match.

I still don't get the Japanese drummers for Sting.
Why not just play his WCW music? That's what people wanted.

It's because they had to pay Brock Lesnar like $4 million, Taker/Hunner/Stinger a million each, and didn't have that many more Network subscribers as they had full PPV purchases in the past. Don't forget Rock (who was probably around Lesnar's pay grade) and Ronda Rousey as well. Actually, come to think of it, didn't the last west coast Mania (also headlined by Lesnar funny enough) bomb as well? Obviously not lose money if this was the first but just do horrible? Yeah but I thought that was due to some kind of beef with the PPV providers than anything else.

As good of a show as it was, the build up was just so terrible!

The build to this show being goddamn awful (despite the show itself being really good) certainly didn't help, I'm sure.

Maybe WWE needs to stop paying these part-time superstars millions just to wrestle one match. Or, maybe if someone like Bray Wyatt beat one of those guys, people would be more willing to pay to see him wrestle against someone else.

I think it was, I just found it funny that it happened at what I thought was the last West Coast Mania (forgot about 21 which did great and 26 which had a bad buyrate but made money).
