I think I'm down for this. I loved 5 out of the 6 Rocky movies. And this one has a chance to be pretty good I think.

I believe the box office take for this film will be higher than all previous Rocky movies! {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Probably my last Creed joke. Probably.

Gotta have Rocky in a Creed movie. If he wasn't it would feel like they tacked-on the kid's lineage for a cheap rub.
They'll have to mess with the timeline some since Apollo dying in Rocky 4 was 30 years ago.

I'm down for this movie. In one way I do hope they keep all the Rocky appearances down to a minimum so they can build up his own storyline and franchise, on the other hand I'm going to marking the f*** out seeing Rocky as a trainer and I'll mark out even more if I see Paulie or Tony or even Ivan Drago.

I wonder if any of this will deal with how Rocky was semi responsible for his dad's death. But think about it if this is successful the sequel could have Ivan Drago come back with his son to get back at Rocky. Then, you guessed it, ghost Apollo.

Original plot I read for this was it was about Apollo's grandson which would've made more timeline sence. Guess this makes for a better story though.

It looks like it could be good.
But it also looks a movie that could end up really dull, boring and dragging on if it goes too deep into the heavy drama and shit. I kinda like the more camp, goofy type Rocky movies like 4 and 3 more than the SRS ones.

My thought after the first few second was "Holy shit, Avon Barksdale is going to teach Wallace how to box!"
Seriously, though, it looks great. Michael B. Jordan is a terrific actor.
An aside, see Fruitvale Station if you haven't. It's an excellent, excellent film.

Trailer looks good. I like the situation of how Adonis has both a huge legacy to live up to with his father, but also deal with how that tragically ended.

Well they could say that Apollo's son was a late bloomer or have the film take place directly after the events of Rocky Balboa back in 2006.

If only they could have kept the references to Rocky Balboa and the 'Rocky' franchise tenuous and minimal, then maybe I could have been on board with this. But then the second half of the trailer started and the air didn't just seep out of the balloon, the balloon got hit with a freaking cannonball. Yeah, nothing like a "Gonna Fly Now" montage with a freaking dirt bike gang riding alongside the junior Creed. F***. THIS. S***T. This gon' be the greatest movie of all the times.

Just in case anyone is wondering,
Adonis Creed was born shortly after Apollo died. (So Apollo's wife must have been pregnant when Drago murdered Creed in around 1985).
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.
Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring.
With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title… but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?

When I see the name Adonis Creed I keep thinking of Adonis Stevenson and now fully expect Creed to duck Sergey Kovadrago, son of Ivan Drago when he appears in the franchise.

I'll probably go ahead and buy some overpriced popcorn when I go see it. That'll be my sacrifice. There's plenty of people saying this movie looks terrible, but what if it's really great? I mean, what if?! All I know is I'll be enjoying it with a can of steel reserve; it can take me higher!

The Rocky franchise has weathered quite a bit, i think this will be a big hit in America. It looks beautiful.

Rocky's gonna overcompensate by throwing in the towel if Adonis gets in any trouble what so ever. Even if it's something minor like getting backed up to the ropes.

I thought the series ended great with 'Rocky Balboa', so I am really hesitent to see this especially considering {Spoiler}the synopsis indicates that something's going on with Rocky. The rumor I've heard is dementia/CTE. Sorry, not cool with killing off Rocky

Looks pretty joyless and "intense." I was really hoping for a prequel with a brash, trash talking Creed that ends with him hearing about some young kid named "Rocky" coming up the ranks. ...the entire point of the first Rocky movie was that Creed literally picked Rocky's name at random... ...and he justified it by saying he liked the sound of Rocky's nickname, "Italian Stallion" So that wouldn't work.
